Saw that Armenian guy who broke his arm weight lifting, holy fuck that was painful to watch.

What is really depressing is that he would have gotten the gold considering how much he was lifting and how much the guy who actually got gold lifted.

That's really sad. They shouldn't treat him like that (fans). Chad is a great swimmer and he deserves it more than Phelps - he "retired" four years ago after his butthurt self lost the race against Chad. Admittedly, it was revenge according to Phelps. He has won so many gold medals, I don't understand why he would get angry when someone else wins a gold medal for instead of him.

Anyway, congrats to the USA.

The guy was shadowing boxing and working out in front of Phelps for the sole purpose of taunting him. Stop trying to defend him and make Phelps look like the bad guy just because he's not American.

Swimmers collect medals like a pig sty collects flies.

It's not fair to compare their medal totals to those of other athletes. They have relays, of many varying lengths, Each get a medal. They get different strokes, of many varying lengths. Each gets medals.

Meanwhile in gold or tennis there's one gold medal, period.

So no golfer or tennis player can ever be the best athlete ever, because they never grabbed that chest full of medals?

The comparisons are not meaningful. Just stay within your discipline. If you want to be called the best Olympic swimmer so far, okay. But you are not entitled to call yourself the best athlete.

So far she has cut down four players all which represent European nations (Slovenia, Russia, Spain and now Germany). People seem to be saying 'all the water is contaminated', as if that included the diving and swimming pools - these are chlorinated pools, like the one you have in your backyard. The water which is supposedly contaminated is the lagoon/sea water, which people are rarely going to be going in, beyond Openwater swimmers and capsized rowers.
