Ableism!
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.
Where is your God-Emperor now?

And despite the fact that Argentina had other good players, it was clear that their tactic was simple: Leave it to Messi.

Which is a problem. Now it's going to be their fault when they play without their best player, in years to come.

Danggone it Brazil. Stahp. What are you doing?! STAHP?! XD

I've heard it's likely Messi will play for Argentina again, probably in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

There is a national appeal for him to play again. AFA (the national organization of football for Argentina) is making changes, mostly to eradicate corruption and to make the national team better. So there's a chance.

Not a horrible theory. I hate how NBC only shows certain sports.

Next Olympics though there might be a North Korea South Korea rivalry to watch.

I have a feeling NBC centers around American athletes. Which is kind of annoying at times.

It strikes me as a bit of an empty gesture - they didn't have the cojones to kick Russia out of the Olympics, so to make up for it they boot them out of the Paralympics. I find it difficult to believe that Russia's Paralympic team is more guilty of doping than their Olympic team.

As far as I am aware, the IPC and IOC are two different organisations.

Yeah, but with upcoming stars like Dybala and Icardi, maybe Argentina has a chance to acheive some glory.

(That is if the other big Argentine dogs have confirmed their retirement from the Argentine national team. )

Only some American athletes. It didn't even show highlights of America's first gold medal for example.

As much as I love my American sports, this is true. Men's basketball, they showed NONE of China's highlights. Not that there were many to look at (lol), but I do agree on this. They need to have someone from a neutral country (like Ireland) covering events like that.

A sportcaster was commenting that US, not sure if just the tv networks or also the US olympic team, wanted the US to be the last to be named in the opening show of the Olympics. Seems that way they could have more air time. But the Brazilians said no. Then they even went by the Portuguese alphabet which means the US got stock with the nations whose names start with the letter "E" in Portuguese. US in Portuguese and Spanish is "Estados Unidos".

NBC just focuses on the US opening team for a long time, then after commercials goes back and shows the countries that it missed.

Seems the French and other more wealther nations have foreign ringers playing for them. :o And then they complain about Russian doping. There should be rules against ringers playing against non-ringers.

For those that do not know what a ringer is -
A ringer is a clearly superior competitor who is introduced into an event to gain an unfair advantage

The IOC not Brazil. And damn right they should. All because it's the United States, doesn't mean they get exclusive rights to how to plan a ceremony - which isn't even their own.
