I mean when you're a politician there's not much else that's relevant to most people. I couldn't give a rats arse if my legislator looks people in the eye when he talks or likes to joke around with his buddies. It's ideology, and by extent policies, that matter.

Nothing contained in the leak is surprising. Bernie continuing to support Hillary in spite of the leak is unsurprising. Hillary immediately hiring DWS is unsurprising.

The DNC is our very own Tom Buchanan.

"If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers." - Calvin Coolidge, July 4,1926

I will admit that quite a few Russians find the Clinton-Trump election to be highly entertaining, I'm saddened that I'll have to live with the result. It'd be hilarious if the election goes to Congress, and they cannot agree, so Paul Ryan becomes the president :P

My conundrum is this.

Clinton is a terrible candidate for various reasons.

Trump is a terrible candidate for various reasons.

They're both fucking awful, but because of our ass-backwards political system, I'm obligated to pick one turd over the other.

In this instance, I would pick a slightly soggy plate of pancakes over Donald Trump.

You can't file bankruptcy for an entire first world country.

You're not obligated to pick anyone, and Trump won't file for bankruptcy. He's not that stupid. He may pretend to, as part of his being unpredictable, but he won't actually do it.

Hillary will not be disastrous. People who say such things are kidding themselves.

I expect Clinton will be like Obama with more vigor and less bad foreign policy.

In light of the fact that Debbie Wasserman Schultz only left the DNC so she could be a part of Clinton's campaign, this may affect Clinton more than I originally thought. Unless she starts to work miracles during the convention, this is rightfully going to hurt Clinton's relationship with Sanders supporters, and it's going to add fuel to the trashcan fire of the GOP's sudden love for anti-establishment politics.

Hillary makes trump look like an angel. She has NO redeeming qualities, her record is abysmal, her honesty and ethics non-existent. There is literally no reason for any thinking being to want her as President.

For one, she has not pledged to overturn marriage equality, deprive people of access to health care, ban over a billion people from entering the country, commit war crimes, bring back new sadistic forms of torture, restrict abortions, default on the national debt, or build a useless wall on the border with a friendly neighbour. Nor has she chosen a notorious enemy of non-Christians, women, workers and the LGBT+ community as her running mate, nor encouraged violence at her own rallies, nor seen notoriously authoritarian regimes as examples to follow, nor dogwhistled her way into the hearts of white supremacists and fundamentalist Christians, nor gone on record as saying that American wages were too high, nor denied the science of global warming, nor been actively involved in the birther movement, nor been at the helm of a series of failed businesses and swindles. And she is not running under an anti-porn, pro-coal, dominionist, staunchly anti-LGBT+ platform.

Instead, she has proposed raising the minimum wage, reforming the criminal justice system, providing some much-needed debt relief to students, passing anti-discrimination protections for LGBT+ people, and reforming campaign finance. Among other things. Good stuff, if you are not feeling too ambitious.

Do I trust her to make good on her word, and actually make every proposed policy of hers a reality? No. She remains a neoliberal, not a social democrat. But at least she doesn't seem to be dangerously ignorant and erratic, and those policies she is more likely to implement would be a step in the right direction.

There's not demonizing Putin, and then there's having a crush on him and being openly willing to give him his wet dream of a crippled or destroyed NATO.

The rebels in Syria are backed by Turkey and Saudi Arabia, and number Al-Qaeda (whom both states support in Syria) among their ranks; if they gain control, the state will change from a secular one, into a Islamist nightmare.

First of all I doubt the plan she's proposing there is still possible with Turkey being as it is right now (kowtowing to Putin and pulling out of Syria).

Second, getting rid of Assad is a noble goal. He's a tyrant, and I see no convincing argument for Iran wielding influence over Israel.

Considering that Israel de facto annexed the Golan Heights, I'd say that Israel's holding its own rather well.

Wikileaks publishes anything they get, they don't give a fuck if it would literally start World War 3.

Russian hackers implicate Russia, who obviously want Trump to win because he wants to be bottom for Putin sempai and has ranted about pulling the U.S. out of NATO so that Russia can go Tartar over the former Soviet Satellites.

Russia can go Tartar over all former Soviet Satellites, except Kazakhstan and Belarus. Thus far Russia hasn't done very much, aside from supporting two Oblasts in Ukraine, and annexing Crimea, which pretty much wants to be Russian. Hurr Durr Rusha Scary Elect Clinton is no longer working. Interestingly enough, that's the line that Republicans used to tow.

Didn't the wife lynching start after a pro-Cruz super-pac ran a piece attacking Melania?

Yes, but as far as we know Cruz himself was not involved.

And it wasn't so much a piece as it was circulating a semi-nude picture of Melania from her modelling days.

Hardly warranted Trump personally mocking Heidi Cruz's appearance, and then pretending that he didn't.

It was a photo, with a text that engaged in shaming Melania Trump. Did it warrant Trump's mocking of Heidi Cruz's appearance? Obviously not. But it wasn't just an innocent semi-nude picture.

True.

Still, good on Cruz for not being a total cuck for Trump. *conspicuously glares at Chris Christie*

It's a Cuck Train. Christie is a cuck for Trump, and Trump in turn is a cuck for Putin.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

Petty corruption? We're talking billions of dollars. What isn't petty corruption for you?

What? Have you gotten this mixed up with something else?

With the failures of Clinton's foreign policy? I'm fairly sure you will be.

Speaking of being a cuck for Putin, hmm, I wonder, did making all those state e-mails available to Putin by putting them on an easily hackable private server, make his day? And wasn't that done by Clinton, not Trump? So if we're going to, for some odd reason, argue who'd benefit Putin the most, Clinton's in the running too.

Chris Christie's been a cuck for everyone though, so maybe he was hoping to infect Trump.

It doesn't prove such.
That's a conclusion drawn from emotional bias. It proves nothing more than that documentation exists alleging such things happened.
