True. Something similar can be observed in Iran by the way, which has been far more heavily influenced by South Asian culture than the rest of the Middle East. People who are homosexual can be sentenced to death if they get caught in the act, while trans people are accommodated and have their transition paid for by their equivalent of the NFŻ/NHS.
In the case of Iran, this does however lead to a disproportionate amount of gay people being "misdiagnosed" as trans to avoid societal exclusion and possible death.
