It seems an easy thing to do, and the fact that the original comments and/or questions aren't there makes me suspicious.

"Comedy"

Let's not be generous here.

Breakout star of SNL last year, and one of their top writers, as well. Twenty years on the standup circuit, with numerous fans, including Chris Rock, who recommended her for the SNL writing gig, which led to appearances and an eventual placement in the main cast halfway through the year. Whatever your personal tastes may be, what she does is considered comedy by people who would know about such things (Lorne Michaels, Chris Rock, Louis CK, et al).

Cool. Good for Twitter. It is a private company and they are under no obligation to serve him and reserve the right to deny service should he annoying other patrons. Well he did annoy other patrons repeatedly and thus he was banned.

I don't understand what the alt-right people are whining about in this case.
Fabulously bisexual.

Twenty years and only Chris Rock and Louis CK ring a bell, and of those, only Chris Rock is actually funny.

And hmm, I guess that explains why SNL just isn't what it used to be. Bring back the 90s. I want Kevin Nealon.

At the very least explain, how in your opinion, the alt right has normalized verbal abuse.

I think the alt-right has normalized verbal abuse insofar as it gave much of the lingo of places such as /pol/ a place in outlets like Breitbart and the like, outlets with a modicum of legitimacy as part of the media. Milo Yiannopoulos' style is a far cry from that of people like Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity. Not even Ann Coulter, who made a career out of employing outrageous rhetoric, utilizes the same sort of language. Juvenile, meme-inspired, half-way between internet trolling and sincere reactionary rhetoric. Openly seeking not just to offend on an ideological or intellectual level, but also on an identity level. Baiting racist, misogynistic and anti-semitic memes galore, and semi-organized mob action online to harrass individual figures or specific groups with the intent of causing, not mere annoyance, but a deeper emotional harm.

Another solid performer. Point is, whether you consider her material funny or not, she's a professional comedian. I mean, I think that Dane Cook is terrible, but what he does qualifies as standup comedy whether I personally like it or not.

My problem with it isn't that he was banned, it's that she wasn't banned as well. They both broke Twitter's ToS but only one of them gets contacted the CEO for a chat and other is banned.
They can legally do whatever they want but people tend to like some sort of reliability when it comes to rules.

How did she break Twitter's TOS?

One of the trolls likened her to Harambe. She took a screenshot of it, tweeted "Exposing I hope y'all go after them like they going after me".
That breaks the 'inciting others to harass another account' bit of the rules.

If we use NS as a parallel, given her record, a warning would be more appropriate. Milo has been warned several times already so a ban is more appropriate.

How can twitter ban someone who deleted their account? I guess they could send her a strongly worded letter explaining that she's been banned in absentia.

Maybe though Twitter seems to deal with warnings via temporary bans which then loops back to my original point. However...

Khadgar wrote:How can twitter ban someone who deleted their account? I guess they could send her a strongly worded letter explaining that she's been banned in absentia.

It's true we have no idea what @jack said to her so a warning or even suggestion of closing the account may have been part of it. When I originally made the post, the account was still up as far as I knew. It'd been up the last that I had seen.

Gauthier wrote:Cadaver Synod Style. Dig it back up then ban it.

Hah!

With both of them off of the site for the moment, I don't really care either way anymore. If both or one or neither end up back on there, ah well.

Good god. I never understood why people get so butt hurt over a stupid fucking website. They didn't have to read the offensive posts, that was their choice. People who are stupid enough to read-and be affected by-somebodies posts on Twitter, they shouldn't be allowed on the interwebs.

They believe both men and women are equal, they just hate the label "feminist" for their own personal reasons.
