People Who Think Pokemon Go Should be for Older Fans Only...

I'm sure we've all met someone like this before. It doesn't really apply exclusively to the latest phenomenon Pokemon GO but to things like Pokemon, anime and kids products in general.

It's older fans, usually in their 20's it seems, who think young kids should not be allowed to play Pokemon GO. If that sounds weird, I can say that it really isn't. The twitter handle "Pokemon Memes" recently made a post stating that anyone under 15 years of age should not be allowed to play pokemon, and received about 8600 likes so it seems a lot of people believe in this. Not to mention the countless memes telling young kids to stay away from pokemon and the laundry list of other kids products these people are so entitled to think they own.

I personally cannot stand these people they're grade A hipsters and I cannot fathom how they think a game aimed at kids should not be for kids. I'm 20 now so as a fan of things like anime, pokemon and Pokemon GO I hate being associated with these people by default too. These are the same people that think an anime is no longer an "anime" once it becomes too "americanized" which roughly translates to "once it becomes too popular in the west." I wish anime was more popular here really it would make it far easier and cheaper to access.

While we're on the subject I also I love seeing young kids who like pokemon and I love encouraging them to keep playing even more too. I just hate that people close to my age think these kids shouldn't be allowed to play a game made for them.

Also, of note, is there's nothing wrong with being an adult who enjoys kids games like pokemon too. You have free will and fun has no age limit I believe.

Why shouldn't they be allowed? Is it because they aren't old enough to know when Pokemon hit the west in the mid 90's? By that logic, I shouldn't be allowed to listen to or be a fan of 70's and 80's music I love just because I am not "old enough" to have remembered those decades? I'll admit, it's a pain in the ass that the servers crash and it might be because so many kids are clogging up the game, but should that mean we ban them from it? It's these elitists that get on my nerves. People of all ages are enjoying themselves playing this. Us twenty-somethings don't have any right to claim this as our own game.

It's a game much more evidently catered to the older fans with the original 150 Pokémon launch, emphasis on travelling to do anything and day/night change in Pokémon availability encouraging players to go walkabout in the wee hours.

Hell, Even the official trailer primarily showcases adults playing the game.

If you're an adult playing Pokemon, you're a hipster. Not that's a bad thing. That's my point these 20-somethings are annoying as hell. Maybe young kids should fire back and say these 20-somethings shouldn't be allowed to watch shows like "adventure time" too. Not their generation!
