It could be worse. There's a Christian youtuber who thinks that all governments are run by the Satanic Pedophilic Illuminati, and that feminism, LGBT rights, etc. are all satanic teachings, and are anti-christ/anti-bible. Oh, and he thinks all religions ought to be outlawed, and believes that freedom of religion only exists to allow the Biblical law to exist and govern everyone.

Yeah.

But really, conversion therapy is the thing that ought to be banned. Surprised it isn't. It's cruel and unusual punishment, is it not?

I honestly laugh at the logic of conservatives sometimes. Like, if it were honestly a choice, do they think that these kids are all masochists and choosing to be resented, hated, beaten, and tortured to be 'converted'? Do they think their brain's makeup and their very biology is going to change for the sake of conformity?

Yeah. It's just torture for torture's sake so that the kid will tell the parents/adults what they want to hear, even though they are likely traumatizing the child in question on top of not doing anything to "fix them."

I'm just surprised that a Pray Away the Gay camp hasn't gone full Clockwork Orange and tried to use the Ludovico Technique on its inmates.

Unfortunately.

It is abuse. It doesn't allow people to be who they want to be and implies they're either diseased, broken or incomplete, made the wrong choice, had been brainwashed beforehand to something other than what they're 'supposed to be'. These attitudes are toxic. They devalue the individual, making them fall below the converter's norms and roles. The individual is shamed and guilt-tripped, their wishes, wants and needs secondary to the higher being or thing 'dictating' the need for the conversion.

I have no empathy for anyone advocating or practicing this. They are all dead to me, the sick, dirty bags of human filth that they are. The only hope is that they'll eventually lose in their cause and die out. The individual will win the war again. Difference will win. Freaks will win. Deviants will win. Those who won't reform to difference and instead keep to sameness and practice assimilation, will lose. Society will lose, morality will lose, religion will lose, culture will lose.

The only way to eliminate us and our freakish, anomalous, deviating essence once and for all is to gun them down until the only one that's left is you... then what? Was sameness true after all or was it just a lie you were brainwashed with?

Conversion therapy can be perceived as probably one of the more perverse manifestations of the constant war between the individual and society. It is to the benefit of all that it's ended by any means necessary. It has no place on the face of the Earth.
