At this point it seems like Erdogan will be overthrown in a few months after this failed coup.

Honestly makes wonder if Erdogan's trying to revive the Ottoman Empire or something.

The Ottoman Empire isn't coming back, but Erdogan is a neo-Ottomanist.

I know it's not coming back. I just mean it seems like Erdogan is trying to return to those days. Kind of like Putin and the Soviet Union.

It's not the U.S., it's the other meddling world superpower. You don't know about it because it changed all the maps to not show it, which should give you a good idea of how much meddling it does. You didn't really think the Pacific was that empty, did you?

I doubt Fiji could engineer a coup in Turkey.

Gülen calls coup a false flag. The Gülen movement, it should be noted, supports multiparty democracy and interfaith dialogue.

I've been hearing that too. People saying everything was coordinated so poorly by the instigators, then all the tv stations and so on coming online right as Erdogan returns. Suspicious, but it's hard to be sure looking at from the other side of the world.

I've considered that. It'd be a pretty cheap way for Erdogan to further cement his control over the country.

It's over. It's likely the coup was the only hope for the military to win, they probably don't have the resources or the will power to fight a war
