Looking at Erdogan's soccer skills, it becomes clear that the coupists never stood a chance against this man.
O'er the hills and o'er the main.
Through Flanders, Portugal and Spain.
King George commands and we obey.
Over the hills and far away.

The US supplies all of Turkey's tanks, heavy weapons, and aircraft anyway. All they have to do is stop sending parts to Ankara.

Yes. But we have nobody with the spine to stand up to Erdogan.

So it seems like Erdogan is essentially holding over 1,000 US troops hostage. Why even shut down our airbase? Obama said the people should support the democratically-elected government.

Apparently a bunch of pro-coup soldiers, of whom surrendered, where executed by mobs - some thrown into the river after being beheaded. Don't wish to submit any graphic material.

I am not sure. But Trump's all take no action. Trump is actually a weak lazy playboy, his tough guy act is BS. Moreover we need leads who a strong, but also smart. Trump is neither strong nor smart. Obama is weak, but not stupid. Trump is also weak even if maybe less so and stupid.

Apparently though because Erdogan is an Islamist and Trump makes and Muslim statements they do not get a long.

Well, no.

Iran has a council of clerics running the whole country.

With Turkey, it would just be Erdogan.

Yeah, and all the crowds of mindless idiots are cheering him on. What a fucking shame. I'm an American and it breaks my heart to watch Turkey go down the pisser.

Honestly makes wonder if Erdogan's trying to revive the Ottoman Empire or something.

Oh please, like this was an independently organized coup... In the past, present, and future, [a certain world superpower which can't take its fingers out of other countries business] has to pull strings from behind the curtains. While I agree Erdogan is in such a position to begin executing people in the middle of the city and nothing will happen, the elections should dictate what happens, Turkey is Turkey's business, no one else's.
