Well it looks like Obama already folded, but that this is out of his hands. The US has an independent judiciary Obama cannot control.

How will Erdogan react to that? He will not be able to pressure judges like he does Obama. Will Erdogan just not get it and escalate anyway? How far will he go? Interesting questions indeed. What worries me is Erdogan does not know when to stop, does not understand moderation nor diplomacy. He thinks he can just order and everyone most obey his extreme holiness.

Because Erdogan is not rational he is very hard to predict.

That would be a no.

We are not going to take any action against Turkey whatsoever. To do so would require leadership that was both strong and smart. It would take strength and delicacy.

Such leaders simply do not exist in the west.

Considering Turkey buys all their military equipment and associated parts from the US, no.

They would run into a hell of a lot of trouble keeping their armed forces afloat without the American defense industry supplying them.

The US supplies all of Turkey's tanks, heavy weapons, and aircraft anyway. All they have to do is stop sending parts to Ankara.

They should send all the parts to Anakara, to the Presidential Palace. All of them. Let Erdogan forward them to wherever they go.
