Friend of mine in Istanbul is on a roof, telling me he can hear sonic booms and low flying F-16s ( a lot others support the claim), I should probably tell him to get back inside.

All I can say is that compared to everything else on right now, this hasn't been a main focus whatsoever, and plenty of such people only slight older appear to have been killed.

But which protesters, there are both pro-Ak and anti-AK ones out there.

mhm, but only helis have been known to attack it so far (one's been circling around and firing at it).

The Witness reports are saying that the F-16s struck the Parliament.

They were flying in on the side of the Coup forces and it was around 3 hours ago (when the Coup first started).

I've only seen heli ones.

This is confirmed, is it?

Regardless, I don't see the coup forces having anything yet approaching aerial supremacy.

ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

signature edit: confirmation has been received. they will explicitly do it before and without asking. they can look at TGs basically whenever they want so please keep this in mind when nominating people for moderator or TGing good posters/anyone!

If the military does control Ankara but not Istanbul and bombed Parliament that's not good. This coup might not have failed. Controlling the capital is far more important by coup standards than the largest city in my view,

Not if Turkey is to remain in the Council of Europe or to keep its EU application open. Both of which are of course not set in stone, but it is unlikely Turkey will end both.
