Brexit hasn't helped, but this is something we've been at for a long time. I could say Thatcher caused it to some degree, but I think the wheel might have already been turning.

Perhaps. Though we will see. I suspect with Labour in the mess that it is (thank you Corbyn), the Conservatives will dominate for some time.

Going back to Corbyn. I originally hated the man and was dismayed at his victory. But considering the last few months I have to say I'm glad he's the leader and here's to hoping he stays for years to come.

It's arguably not just Corbyn's fault (his conciliation to the Labour right), the Labour right must take overall responsibility.

Labour was in a mess long before Corbyn came.

That's true. I guess he's the icing on cake to me. I respected Blair and New Labour a lot more than I did Miliband or Corbyn.

Parties have factions. Corbyn is symbolic of the hard left frustrated at defeat and much like Tea Party candidates in the US shows us the base pushing harder and harder to their side. The most success Labour has had with Tony Blair, but old school socialists and leftists didn't like his pull to the center. It's a lot easier to change your message than what people believe. Labour doesn't seem to understand that.

"Secretary of State for Defra"?

Andrea Leadsom smiles as she leaves No 10

Coming out of Downing Street, Mrs Leadsom, who has been an energy minister and won the backing of more than 80 MPs before pulling out of the leadership race smiled and answered reporters "Secretary of State for Defra" as reporters shouted questions asking her what her new job was.

Several decades ago Corbyn would be considered a moderate. And what the right don't seem to understand (Ken Clarke is the only one who does understand), is Labour moving left, shifts the whole political spectrum in Britain to the left.

The department's full title is the Department for Environment, Food, & Rural Affairs.

It doesn't matter what would be considered a moderate decades ago if you're trying to win an election.

Refreshing, is what.

No, seriously. What's the point in ditching half of the ideology, to the point you no longer truly oppose the government, just to chase elections, even when it's plainly evident that it won't win you elections?

So far five positions have been sacked, two resigned, and one was offered another post but declined and then resigned.

But Labour moving right to chase the tail of the conservatives has only led to disillusionment within the working class when Labour is in government, the political spectrum moving right, and the next tory government winning, which is to the right of the previous won. Well, that saying about doing the same thing again and again, time to break that cycle.
