I'd say I'm ok with maybe 4-5 of those choices, and not ok with about the same. That's not a too bad result for damage limitation so far.

Considering he's the foreign minister it does. And he's criticising Borris? Guess where he's going to be told to shove his opinions. :)

Boris can say that if he wants, because it will totally be great diplomacy if he does and we really have all the leverage in Europe that we need, so you know what, that sounds just like the right thing to do.

Skinner will love the new Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster because he's a miner who got on his bike and looked for work when the mines were closing down.

It affects the working relationship he will have with these nations. Such impressions actually do matter quite a lot in diplomacy - if a nation feels the the UK's FM is effectively not someone they can work with, due to his expressed dislike of their nation, they'll care less about working with the UK, or circumvent Boris (which is not always a great move as Boris may try to shut down any circumvention).

Conversely, an apology is a fairly painless way to show that he'll be more diplomatic on the job.

It could be argued that to appoint Boris to this position is a clever move on May's part.
For a voluntary Socialist democratic republic of England, Scotland, Wales and a United Socialist Democratic Federal Republic of Ireland in a United Socialist Europe.
Leave Nato - abolish trident, abolish presidential monarchies (directly elected presidents) and presidential Prime Ministers

I never advocated for Borris to be foreign secretary, that doesn't make the French one any less stupid. Hell, saying someone isn't as stupid as Borris is like when people try to justify a country by saying it's better then North Korea. Being better then the clown isn't much of an achievement.

Have you considered running as an MP? I'm sure if you find an area that supports nationalisation of energy firms you could make that your issue.

I certainly want to go into nuclear policy, then maybe eventually into "government".

It's been repeatedly suggested to me by people in the industry that having the industry experience prior will make me relevant and worth listening to.

Well, I don't believe either are stupid, and instead am inclined to think both pander to national 'opinions' and personal ambitions.

My opinions on Boris are quite resolutely negative, but I'm not going to unfairly attack his intelligence. He has some political skill, at the very least, and perhaps more so than many politicians right now.
