've found the best thing to do is to become friends with people so you have that mutual bond of shared interests, then you use that to pursue things deeper. I'd like to think it's not complicated.

It's also the easier way to be friendzoned.

You need to be assertive and put yourself out there. If you seem as though it made no difference whether you get them or not, they won't go out with you.

It's like getting a job: make it seem like you care and you got it. That is, well, if you have the qualifications and all, but that's beside the point.

For me, it's a little bit difficult because I'm not very assertive or dominant. Instead, I'm a rather submissive person. Well, I'm sure there are people out there who are into that as well.

I went to school with her last year, and asked her out. It was a rash decision; I shoulda got to know her. Big mistake that I didn't. Anyways, we were together for four months. I got rediagnosed with cancer in Febuary and she went ballistic, so I broke it off, but there were other reasons as well. Lately, she's been texting me "why do you hate me?" Becuase I won't go back out with her. Even worse, she had my best bro ask me out for her, even after I told them both I wouldn't. Who the hell does that?! Anyway, It all reeks of high school drama, cause it is, but I want it to be stop, I want her to leave me alone. And I've told her this. I could just say, leave me alone, I'm not going out with you again, deal with it, and move on. Id rather not be a complete asshole, however.

Any advice?

Her being needy could be some weird guilt thing she feels over that. That's what I read into "why do you hate me" and "please tell your bro that I love him", anyway.

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this before, or if it's entirely accurate, but I think one of the best ways to get into a relationship is to get a real job first.

I know that I used to have a lot of trouble talking to people in real life, and had problems with my looks but when I began working I slowly had less trouble talking to other people. I think it gives an extra boost of confidence (somehow) and conversations about funny things that happen at work are more entertaining and easier to get into then discussing the weather or each others video game adventures. And it was also after I got my first job that I began noticing which of my friends would keep asking for stuff and which ones were content. Kind of shows the persons character that I never noticed before I started working, which to me is important.

It always boosts your self-confidence and sense of self-worth to have a job. You're right about it making friends stand up, too. Altogether, jobs are great for almost all aspects of your life.

Strange. Anyways, I told her again to leave me alone and threatened to file a harassment report with the police. That worked. Nonetheless I'm not exactly thrilled to go back to school later this month... Hopefully she still leaves me be.

If you think you have to give autonomy then you are not ready for a relationship.

A relationship doesn't mean you have to give up your own autonomy. It just means you have to consider someone else and not take unilateral decisions.

Also, as for free time, you are not necessarily giving up free time. You're just deciding to be with someone else during that free time.
