Sorry could not resist, that one always make me laugh

Yeah it is a meme, but ive also seen some people use these memes and genuinely think there should be another bout of crusades because they are ultra radical Christians and or right wing zealots.

But its mostly memes from my experience.

My money's on "Bregging to be let back in, cap in hand". Who the hell sees the farcial shitshow that is the British political situation and economy post-referendum and wants that to happen to their country? Whoever they are, I don't think they're very patriotic.

They're right-wingers and/or neo-fascists, usually teenage boys, with dreams of defending Christendom from the vile Turkish hordes. Basically the same ideology as Anders Breivik.

Also, I approve of this play on names. "Czechout" sounds a lot better than "Brexit".

Nirvash Type TheEND wrote:http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/654175/French-voters-demand-Frexit-EU-referendum-Germany-UK-Brexit

With Britons set to go to the polls in June, there are increasing signs the UK’s referendum is paving the way for other European countries to question their own relationship with Brussels. It comes after calls for Germany to have their own EU referendum in the aftermath of the migrant crisis. In a fresh blow to the EU, 53 per cent of the French voted in favour of holding a UK-style referendum on the country’s membership.

Such a response from one of the EU’s founder members will undoubtedly ruffle feathers in Brussels. Front National (FN) leader Marine Le Pen welcomed the poll results in a recent blog post, saying French demands for a referendum were “extremely encouraging”. A quarter (25 per cent) of French people also want to see an end of free movement throughout Europe after the EU’s Schengen zone was heavily criticised in the aftermath of the Paris attacks.

...

But France is not the first European country where voters are demanding their own chance to leave the EU, with both the Netherlands and the Czech Republic saying they want to follow Britain in holding an in-out referendum. In a Dutch poll, 53 per cent supported an in-out vote, while the Czech prime minister Bohuslav Sobotka warned a "Czexit" could follow if Britons choose to leave the EU in June. Anand Menon, a professor of European politics at King’s College, said: “The British referendum is a laboratory for other referendums in Europe.

...

Dr Lees told Express.co.uk: “A referendum in France is an absolute possibility. Certainly, if Britain votes to leave the EU in June, I think France will be under increasing pressure to have a referendum. Dr Lees added: “After Britain’s negotiations with the EU, it is only natural for France to look to the UK and say: ‘We contribute more to Europe than the UK does, so why can’t we negotiate?"

Well gang. It looks like the European experiment may finally be coming to a close. This has been a long time coming, given the long and storied tradition of European countries hating eachother's guts. From an American perspective, I'm happy to see the EU go. We already have one united states, we don't need another. And with the Eurozone centralized bank, Euro currency, free movement, and talk of a European army, it really honest to god does seem like the European governments are moving towards one Europe, and up until this week, have been showing no signs of slowing down.

Here's to preserving culture, NSG.

js, but the US won't be happy to see the EU go.
Not sure why you think "one Europe" is some new step, it's a stated founding goal of the damned EU.

The article's clearly out of date as it seemed to have been written before the vote.
And Schengen probably doesn't have a lot to do with Paris attacks, considering the attackers were all French and Belgian born nationals.

On topic, I saw an article regarding calls for a "Dexit" referendum – Deutschland's exit from the EU.

Two were Iraqi and came with the migrant wave. Another one, a French passport holder, was in Syria and also came with the migrant wave.

Schengen didn't cause the Paris attacks, nor were border controls extremely likely to have done much, but Schengen was pretty helpful for the terrorists.

Actually the official name of the Holy Roman Empire was:

Heiliges Römisches Reich Deutscher Nation

The German Empire of 1871 was a Nation State (excluding already Austria, the other german state) not the Universal State that the HRE used to be.

I know. The German Empire was more stable than the HRE, and therefore would be a better choice.

Unless the states that would be incorporated would somehow come to an agreement to ensure its success.

The HRE lasted 1,000 years. The German Empire only 47 years. The HRE was actually much more stable.

I think all this speculation is pretty damn silly, to be honest. I don't expect another exit within the next few years, nor too far into the foreseeable future.

Perhaps the Dutch and French will have a referendum within the decade, but eh, not counting on it.

Sorry, the Pope doesn't look like he's going to crown anyone any soon, and the Czech crown has been abolished in 1919 iirc.

Remember, the pope is argentine. Perhaps he would crown Mauricio Macri holy roman emperor, making him the joint ruler of Argentina and Europe. Argentina would finally achieve status as European. And they'd have power and leverage to force the British to give up las Malvinas.
