I suppose I'll vote dogs because rabbits (which are not rodents) are not on here.

Dogs by a landslide.

Dogs love you more as well.

Study Says Dogs Love Their Owners 5 Times More Than Cats Do

http://pets.people.com/pets/2016/02/01/ ... s-do-study

"News outlets are currently littered with headlines spouting that it’s finally been proven: dogs officially love you more than cats. This is based on unpublished research conducted by neuroeconomist Dr. Paul Zak as part of a new series on BBC2, titled “Cats v Dogs,” which found that dogs produce more of the “love hormone” oxytocin after playing with owners compared with their feline counterparts."

Now that you mention it, the lack of rabbits in the poll is quite the oversight.

As far as I'm concerned, the ferrets can stay. Bunnies should be added, though.

A dog, hands down. My Kerry blue terrier passed away last week, and it was fucking rough. But, I remember that dog as the most fun loving, loyal friend a man can have. Dogs all the way, cats just sit around, smell up the house, and act hostile towards most things. I actually have a strong disdain for cats.

I have seen a couple of folks where I am from treat a sheep as a pet, despite what said sheep's proper classification may be.

As for myself, I favor dogs for pets. I currently have a pure blooded Border Collie.

I'm a dog person. I prefer dogs of medium to large size, with plenty of energy, short hair, and a protective streak. I don't really care about their breeding, but I'd steer clear of a particularly inbred one.

Cats, although I never had one, they are grest companions that don't require much work. You just set things up for them, and they adapt very quickly.

I second the motion on the breeding part...In fact, my Border Collie is the first pure blooded dog that I have owned. My other dogs have all been of mixed breeds, they seem to be much hardier animals. (at least in my experience)

But do dogs have the same health benefits? Nope.

And nevermind the problems with the test involved.

Inbred pets are immoral to the highest degree.

So I boycott anything to do with them.

Bunny by a bunch.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.
