So what's the point of your imaginary "What Ifs" somehow demonstrating how this petition receiving >100,000 signatures sets some kind of precedent, when its only legal basis is requiring the Commons to only debate it, at the very least?

And Lisbon I was 8 years ago. So using basic arithmetic(I'm sure you haven't forgotten that in the last fortnight) I calculated that you were 10 at the time. And thus you probably weren't paying very close attention to the referendum, or so I assume, because generally children don't.

It's investors converting their pounds into dollars and euros to buy safe dollar- and euro-denominated assets. Explains the falling bond yields and the short crash in FTSE. FTSE 100 'recovering' doesn't mean there was no economic damage and that it was all down to 'panic'.

Brussels has already set up the Task Forces for Brexit and Article 50 to work out the legal details. Seems like the guy heading those efforts, and playing a key role in negotiations is Didier Seeuws.

Meanwhile, the EU Parliament President would like to see the Article 50 request by Tuesday (in German only).
