A Briton tries to kill Trump

So it (kinda) almost happened.

Michael Steven Sanford, a British national, went for an officer's gun at a Trump rally, planning to use it to shoot the candidate. He was taken out of the convention center and confessed to an attempt on Trump's life. He said he has been planning this for some time, and was expecting to die in an attempt on Trump's life.

What say ye, NSG?

Well, I was expecting this. I'm skeptical of the dropping poll numbers, but if Trump manages to recover from his booboo of firing his campaign manager he may be able to use this to his advantage. Just please don't alienate one of our allies, otherwise I'll have to put you on the same level as the current president. Sadly, he probably will.

EDIT: Additionally, thank God that only less-than-intelligent people try to do this.

Oh boy, the right wing is probably going to have a field day with this one and, because this isn't Liberal Crime Squad, I can't imagine how this can help the anti-Trump side of things.

But...guns aren't known to be too difficult to get hold of in America. Was their seriously no easier way to get hold of one?
