Nigeria would be nice to see do well as well.

Yeah, Son is the heart of the team, and we don't want his career interrupted, since we need to get him prepared not just for Rio, but also Russia in 2018.

I'm so glad Nigeria beat Japan 5-4. Both are weak teams, I believe.

Japan have got some decent players, Okazaki, Yoshida and Kagawa.

It's mostly important because he won't have to take a 2 year break in his club career if he wins an Olympic medal. Which would hurt Spurs either directly or if we decide to sell as his value would be super low.
Didn't he come off the bench in the first two matches? Thought his start may be a bit slower because he arrived in Brasil after most of the team already had.
Slightly related, I'd love to get my hands on a Tottenham #7 kit with Sonny's name in Hangul but alas it's not allowed from the official site. Granted 손 may be a little short, put the whole 손 흥민 on there.

Yes, Kagawa is playing for one of the best teams in the world and Okazaki and Yoshida both play for top half BPL teams.

Yeah, that's the correct Korean spelling. The reason he sat for the two matches was to prepare him for third round robin match as well as the knockout round. Son is undoubtedly the best player on the team and one of the best players in Tottenham right now, and his conditioning is of utmost priority.

Personally, I'd like to get my hands on a Korean jersey with his name on it. :)

don't think any of them came to Rio. Afaik it was mostly domestic players along with a small handful of under-23 players in Europe.

Needs to up himself to get off the bench. He is the only decent option to back up the wide AM roles though at the moment.

True, I mean, if he can get off the bench, he'll be one of the fastest and the most agile player in the team.

Until either the N'Koudou saga is resolved or Levy and Poch give up and go for the also very quick Rafa Silva or Bofal.
Also Yedlin and Walker are hella pacey and are quite agile going forward.

However, he also has finesse, so I think he can match up to the players you've mentioned.

So Julian Green has been given a spot on Bayern's first team for the upcoming season and so has Pulisic for Dortmund. I wonder if these two youngsters will be the future of the American NT and deliver on the potential that the fans and their club managers see.

Also, I created a fantasy league for us on the site, use the code: 1078036-512923 , to join.
World Cup 40, 42, 43, 52, & 61 Champions
WC 47, 51, 94 (2nd), WC 34, 38, 39, 41, 44, 45, 53, 60, 67, 92 (3rd), WC 49, 58, 87, 90 (Semifinalist), WC 33, 35-37, 46, 48, 54, 55, 62, 63, 65, 72, 83, 85, 86, 88, 91 (Quarterfinalist)
WCoH VII, VIII, XVII, XXVIII, XXX, XXXII (1st), WCoH I, XXXI, XL (2nd), WCoH II, XXIX (3rd), WCoH XII (4th)
AOCAF 44, 46, 51, 53, 65, 68 Champions, AOCAF 39, 43, 55, 59, 64 Runners Up
Co-Hosted: too many events to count

EPL Season 20,073

I'm still waiting for the Argentinean Superleague to begin but due to money issues it will start... Never.

FC Astana vs BATE Borisov will be a one of the best matches of the Europe league.

Former Aston Villa player Dalian Atkinson has died after being tasered by police. Best remembered for scoring Match of the Day's goal of the season in 92-93

Lloris out for a month :(
Vorm is kinda a Dutch Joe Hart but should be fine for now. If the midfield problem is solved we can afford a few silly mistakes at keeper.

Well, the UEFA WC qualifiers are coming up this September. As we all know, Russia have automatically qualified as hosts, leaving an extra spot for UEFA teams. Gibraltar and Kosovo will make their WC Qualifying debuts. What are your thoughts and predictions?

Looks like the N'Koudou saga is finally over. He's expected to sign within a few days, with Clinton headed to Marseille on loan.

It would be very disappointing if the reform ideas for the Champions League would make it. Four direct berths for the top nations just is too much to allow smaller yet reputable clubs to test their skill - especially when bringing in teams on so-called 'historical basis' (read: their money bags).

Well.

This does rather suck for Man City. Figure you'll have to fight it out for second place with Barca. Good luck!
