I wasn't trying to pretend to be a moderator, nor did I think that moderators need to get involved. But I was assuming you were a halfway decent fucking person with even the slightest amount of sympathy for those who are struggling to come to terms with this attack and that you'd be willing to take your completely unrelated discussions somewhere else. What is it about the month of June that brings out the shooters? Last year it was Charleston. This year it's Orlando. I fear next June it's my own city.

While we can bring religion into this, since the shooter apparently was from Afghanistan, it's still too early to determine if it was a motive for this attack. We can also bring the term "hate crime" into this as well, but it's also a bit early to say it was, even though the fact that a gay club specifically was targeted is pretty overwhelming evidence. For all we know, the shooter could've just randomly picked the place and it just so happened to be a gay bar. Either way, it's still a terrible event and unfortunately we'll never be able to stop them for happening.

What makes me inclined to think that it isn't a coincidence is that every other time when it was found out that the shooter was Muslim it was later found out the shooters motives were from a radicalized belief in Islam.
