They probably were not controlling him, but in all likelihood he was another ISIS wannabe.

Thank you for pretending as if you're a moderator. I'll be sure to take your advice into consideration.

I wasn't trying to pretend to be a moderator, nor did I think that moderators need to get involved. But I was assuming you were a halfway decent fucking person with even the slightest amount of sympathy for those who are struggling to come to terms with this attack and that you'd be willing to take your completely unrelated discussions somewhere else. But apparently you lack the basic amount of human sympathy to do that, so maybe the mods do need to get involved.

While we can bring religion into this, since the shooter apparently was from Afghanistan, it's still too early to determine if it was a motive for this attack. We can also bring the term "hate crime" into this as well, but it's also a bit early to say it was, even though the fact that a gay club specifically was targeted is pretty overwhelming evidence. For all we know, the shooter could've just randomly picked the place and it just so happened to be a gay bar. Either way, it's still a terrible event and unfortunately we'll never be able to stop them for happening.

That is incorrect.

This isn't that.

But it is?

What makes me inclined to think that it isn't a coincidence is that every other time when it was found out that the shooter was Muslim it was later found out the shooters motives were from a radicalized belief in Islam.

Do you need the statistics again?

Chances are 9 out of 10 Muslims will believe homosexuality is immoral. Don't be surprised some of them may even decide to act violently against homosexuality when over half of the Muslims in a developed Western country such as the one this incident happened in want to ban homosexuality.

For the Islamophiles who immediately jumped in to shout BIBLE BELT, BIBLE BELT, that was an utterly erroneous and ill-informed assumption to be making. Statistically, a Christian in the U.S. may believe same-sex marriage shouldn't be legal. They aren't aiming to ban homosexuality like the majority of Muslims are. So no, it's not surprising that a violently homophobic religion such as Islam continuously ends up spawning hate crimes against LGBT people far more than any other religion can churn out such malice.

Rather conspicuously missing the figures for western Europe and the Americas, there Val.

Also "Islamophiles", lol.

Obviously we should assume that it's the same.

In IS controlled areas, people who live there are rarely IS supporters or sympathisers, and they are indeed forced at gunpoint to witness public executions.

So, though you clearly didn't intend it to be, that image caption is mostly accurate.
