We have no confirmation that this was an act of radicalization. Just because a Muslim does something bad doesn't mean it's because of there religion.

The writing is on the wall. There was even a senator on CNN a few minutes ago who said the shooter apparently pledged allegiance to Daesh and some other nonsense.

I will actually be shocked if it's shown to not be the result of radicalization.

For once, I wish one of these guns in mass shootings was a semiautomatic rifle, but with a full wood stock and no pistol grip or bayonet lug so people would understand that "gun looks scary" does not make a weapon more or less effective.

I was more hoping for something that would shot that a semiautomatic rifle can indeed look like a "hunting rifle".

Chances are 9 out of 10 Muslims will believe homosexuality is immoral. Don't be surprised some of them may even decide to act violently against homosexuality when over half of the Muslims in a developed Western country such as the one this incident happened in want to ban homosexuality.

Clearly Islam has a problem with terrorism. The question is how we tackle it. I think we have to stop people becoming radicalised in the first place, which means we have to stop them making the jump from "these people are immoral" to "therefore I should kill them", which is probably going to involve talks with the imams. The difficulty then is we are going to have the state more or less interfering in religion, which is not going to go down well with the kind of people open to radicalisation.

Your statistics on homosexuality in Islam are flawed for two reasons

1. The study doesn't take into account Muslims in western nations, who are considerably more liberal than those in muslim majority countries.

2. The study was taken three years ago, a lot has changed.

ISIS posted what is thought to be a picture of him on twitter and praised his actions.

They probably were not controlling him, but in all likelihood he was another ISIS wannabe.
