I have no clue as to whether a heaven or hell exist, as there is obviously no scientific proof either way. I'd like to think there's an afterlife, but it really depends on one's personal beliefs.

I could try to prove heaven to you but I won't because in Islam if you don' have knowledge on the matter you shouldn't even comment and secondly I don't think I could convince any of you anyway I may now a lot but I certainly don't know everything.

as I recall st Thomas Aquinas thought that one of the fun parts of being in heaven was that you could get to laugh at the poor buggers in hell.

I don't know if that means he felt he came from a very righteous family or a very bad one.

I follow Vajrayana Buddhism as an Atheistic Philosophy, and subscribe to some of their beliefs. One of them is the thought of reincarnation. I believe there is no afterlife until you reach Nirvana. At the point of Nirvana, it is unknown what happens. Is it nothing or everything. Heaven, or the mind? It could be percieved different ways. Very interesting.

Interestingly enough, most Christians don't realize that according to Christian eschatology, when a person dies they don't go to the afterlife straight away. Particularly in the case of Heaven, only those who have directly ascended to the afterlife (who are very few in number) are actually in Heaven. Everyone else is, technically speaking, dead in the ground, waiting to be revived by God during the Day of Judgement. For now, at least in terms of its human population, Heaven is practically empty.

So really, at least according to the vast majority of Christian theology, when people die they don't really go anywhere. They just die, and eventually get revived at some unspecified date.

As a Muslim we believe you can have sex in heaven wit your wife/wives. You can also eat whatever food you like and wear the finest clothing there are huge palaces etc.

That's possibly true of some protestant and other assorted heterodox groups, but that's not true for Catholicism (and likely not for the Orthodox).

Catholic teaching is that each soul is judged at the moment of death and goes on to reap its reward (whether Hell, Heaven (whether directly or through purgatory)).

Thus the reason why Catholics are able to pray to the saints. Their souls are already in Heaven with God.

Consider the words of the Lord to the Good Thief:

"And Jesus said to him: Amen I say to thee, this day thou shalt be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:43).

At the end of time, our bodies indeed will rise again to join our souls in either everlasting glory...or else, unending ruin, damnation and torments.
