No. They're my guns. They're my gun rights. Fuck off.

See everyone? If we remove the right to own weapons that are designed to murder people then this attitude will not continue! Look, a basic equation is Guns+Angry People=Murders. If we remove Guns from the equation, it equals Angry People=Angry People, all we are left with is some Angry People, and do you know what, we can give them a tax break to make them happy! Because America will not have to spend so much money on it's police force! Or you could spend it on stuff that matters, like healthcare or education! Problem solved!

Too bad, because your Constitution is enacted with the consent of the states, and with it the Constitution may be changed. If your Constitution was not in the first place enacted by the states acting upon the mandate of the people therein, it would have no legitimacy whatsoever.

What if I told you that I do not need any weapons to kill a man, but rather my own hands?

Did you know that if you give an angry person a car he can kill another man with it; we call this road rage. :)

Back to the ban all guns, most guns used in crimes are obtained illegally. Criminals will criminal, really no matter fists or guns.

Angry people can still smack and flail, though. Let's also ban anger! :p

In all seriousness, though, the ultimate purpose of government is to serve the nation, and the ultimate purpose of nationhood/statehood is collective security and happiness, because we already have full freedom as living beings. If some freedoms must be curtailed, and I am sure that such insensible manifestations of freedom like vivisection must be, then so they must, but only with the consent of the governed, for the common good.

Indeed. A person does not need to justify exercising a right. Those who would restrict anothers rights are the ones who have to provide the justification. Another place where the gun-grabbers fail.

I think the fundamental issue is that us evil "gun-grabbers" just don't see why it should be a right. I'm not in favor of terking teh gunz or whatever it is that gun nuts and the NRA are afraid of, though I do support regulations, but frankly when people just justify their gun ownership with "it's mah right", it makes me raise an eyebrow. I'm not convinced it should be a right, frankly. Not everything the Founding Fathers wrote down was terribly intelligent (see: black people count as 3/5ths of a white person).

Actually, the 3/5ths Compromise was a work of political appeasement. If you were to look up the context of it, you'd find that the South wanted to have all of its blacks count towards its population in the House of Representatives, which would have heavily unbalanced the rep count, which the North didn't like. Thus, the 3/5ths compromise was implemented, in order to keep things from getting too far out of hand. In fact, if memory serves the only reason slavery wasn't abolished at the founding of the country was the fact that the country was very, very poor and couldn't afford paying people. The race issue probably also played a part, but that grew more prevalent later. At its inception, the slavery question was a necessary evil, not intentional bigotry.

All that to say that the 3/5ths compromise was more than just shenanigans.

Yes I have been to the USA, countless times, in fact. I've been to Washington, Oregon, California, New York (incl. NYC), Pennsylvania, Maryland, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Virginia, New Jersey, Delaware, Hawaii, and DC. I have gone to the States on academic pursuits, on commercial missions, and for leisure. I have entered by air, by rail, by highway, and by steamship.

None of the people that I met have ever used a gun as a courtesy gesture to me, except the border guards, that is. They just walk around the vehicle and look at their wrist watches.
