The problem with Malaysia is that its system wears a grimy, poorly-made boot that it uses to step all over the concept of what a monarchy is. Would you prefer that the monarch have actual executive power, shared with a prime minister and restricted by the constitution? Perhaps your opinion would be different if the monarch wasn't elected like a president, and had actual power to exercise?

I don't sit well with monarchy system at all. I dislike the way that they are just there to be the figurehead, give pardons and that's about it (at least in my country). These royals are given allowances each month, palace to stay, all at the expense of normal people who struggle each day. To me, if you're given $$, then please work your arse off. Not bumming around just looking good.

In malaysia, there's not just 1 royal family. There are about 9-10 sultans i think, even when their family isnt elected to become king, we have to feed them all.

Well again, that's just because of your country's system, other monarchies make their own money, don't include God knows how many other families, and also bring in revenue through tourism, along with generally making the countries they represent look good on the international stage.

I don't believe in getting money to do nothing, hence why I also believe in a more powerful monarch, so that if they are receiving tax money to begin with, they'll at least be putting it to good use running the country.

When you realize that the Brits took land from natives, had slaves, wanted to remove kebab, and had a civil war.

Some of those were justified since Great Britain was dragged into several wars throughout history.

Britain did outlaw slavery, at the very least in Great Britain itself, while the United States still had slavery. And yes they are the in the Middle East, but only because the United States declared war on terror.

I wouldn't say it's as bad of an oil fetish, Europe in general seems less oil hungry than the United States.

Some tribe in Africa, I mean if you wanted to, you could blame Great Britain for getting America involved into the slave trade, however, the fault would lie on a age old tribe forgotten to history and time, they would have been the original at fault who somehow spread the idea across the globe. :^)
