What is a "New Afrikan"?
O'er the hills and o'er the main.
Through Flanders, Portugal and Spain.
King George commands and we obey.
Over the hills and far away.

Yes, the Qur'an and Islam have very warlike themes. Have you stopped to think that perhaps that was due to where and when Islam was born? Muhammad and his followers were constantly in conflict with the Arabic pagans who hounded them from the very beginning. So, naturally conflict is a common theme and something that had to be spoken on, just like slavery in Rome had to be spoken on by Paul and the Apostles in the New Testament.

And let me tell you this, I'm not a scholar of Islam by any means but from what I do know Muhammad was far more humane than his pagan opponents were.

Only if you fuck off first. I've read plenty of the qu'ran, including quite a few hadiths.
You know, it would have been forgiven if the initial idea was to have it be aggressive. Defend your own, whatnot. But that's not it, is it? It sure was DEFENDING when it pushed all the way into Spain. Defensively. Also, that dog ain't gonna hunt because, guess what, rape? Beheadings? Killing the jews? That is all still considered to be defensive actions, the result of being hounded by pagans? Wake up: violence is inherent to the quran and moslems.

Muhammad was far more humane? Toooootally. Next thing you'll be repeating pseudo-feminists who say that he was a feminist too.

Most of these are true - or worse - for the Bible. It's pretty standard for religious texts.

It's not about believing what the "neo-colonial" government says, it's all right out there.

Likewise, your "Afrikan" (it's spelled with a C in English fyi, which I'm assuming is your mother tongue) brothers and sisters aren't oppressed in the west. Sure I'll admit they have it a bit harder due to economic issues and whatnot, but there's no systemic widespread oppression like you seem to believe.

Some stupid shit from the 1960's where a bunch of black nationalists wanted to carve out an ethnic state in the southern US and force the fed to pay them reparations.

What is a "New Afrikan"?

A person of Afrikan descent living in the Afrikan diaspora. Usually in neo-colonial America.

The Southern US has had a faster growth rate than the North since the 1970s and it still hasn't caught up and it was far less far behind than Africa. For Africa to get caught up to even 1940s US is going to take it a century or more no matter what anyone does. An economy can only grow so fast.

The reason Afrika's behind is the West.

Africa has been behind long before the Europeans had any real influence on it. Sub-Saharan Africa is poor mainly because it is cut off from Eurasia by desert and its own jungles. It is full of megafauna that is an actual threat to man, while Europe and Asia have few . It has relatively few fast flowing rivers for its size in which you can travel quickly by boat while Europe in particular has many. Europe also has many ports and harbors for its size. It has fast growing vegetation which makes road building difficult. In short Africa is a place that it is difficult to get people and ideas to move around while in Europe it is easy. There are reasons Eurasians have been ahead in technology in respect to Sub-Saharan Africa for thousands of years.

No, but it does make the selective condemning of one religion over another hypocritical. As an atheist, I decry all religion. However, as a humanist, I think that oppressing one religious group over another is also hypocritical, and hence, I support muslims.

While this is true, there are a few supreme difference between the two.

1) Most of the nasty shit is in the Old Testament, which is no longer being lived by by the Christians. We'd be little better than the moslems if we still stoned people, which was common practice in the OT. For instance, unmarried wives with hair showing? Stone them all!

2) There was a little happening called the Enlightenment. It changed a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot about Christianity.

3) At worst, christianity has the westboro baptist church that pickets funerals. Annoying but not lethal. Buddhists will hold up traffic on the sidewalk so that nobody tramples on the ladybug sitting there. Worst excesses of Islam? Well. Burning people in cages. Training children to be terrorists. (Shout out to my peeps in the Gaza Strip, who play such rousing games as "Navigate the tunnel underneath Israel" and "Kill the Yehudi soldier").

It is beyond me why people still take islam under their wing and defend it. Nothing good has come of it. Inventions? oh yeeeees. All those things they claimed to have invented? Those were done in Baghdad, where people of ALL STRIPES studied. Or take a look at modern science. The Nobel Peace Prize is all moslems won, no other Nobel prize. And worse yet, they didn't even win the prizes on their own.
