Indeed. Trump's all over the place, which leaves Saiwania in a bit of a bind, bless his heart.

Trump's insufficiently consistent in his aggressive, militaristic fascism.
Clinton's unthinkable (a sentiment I sadly agree with him on).
Johnson doesn't have a chance in Hell.

So...where does that leave Saiwania and his fellow paleo-conservatives (read: radical reactionaries)?

Depends on the VP pick. If Trump picks Pence then they can always hope for a good old fashioned stroke or heart attack to put a Real Conservative™ in office.

And don't you think Trump knows that? Assuming he wins (which is not that likely right now), his only chance of surviving (let alone remaining in office as President) is to take Suharto's path(1): pick a VP who is so utterly, obviously disastrous that everyone does their best to ensure he remains in office and ensure that his VP doesn't take over. Bonus points if said VP can actually appeal to one or more crucial voting blocs, to help Trump get into office in the first place.

(1) By this, of course, I refer to Suharto's 1997 pick of B.J. Habibie as his Vice President, in the full knowledge that Habibie had a long history of disastrous hobby-horses under his belt in lieu of policies.

Right now there's some noise about the convention rules committee adding a rule saying the delegates pick the VP. Which would be hilarious and I hope it happens just for the Trump meltdown.

Why don't you like Trump? I thought you were far-right.

Saiwiana isn't really far right, he's a single issue voter, and that single issue is "Protect me from the scary brown people!". Which is is why he was a big Trump supporter, until it became clear that Trump has no idea what he's doing and had just bulled his way through the Republican Primary on dumb luck and taking advantage of the total chaos.

So Saiwiana has defaulted back to supporting the GOP establishment on the basis that even if they're not willing to adopt Trumps superior "Brown people are bad, send them away" policies, they still as a party cater overwhelmingly to whites, and unlike Trump they actually have some coherent idea of what they're doing.

Some days when looking at the forest of politics versus the trees, I am reminded of the marketing of the Model T Ford.

You can buy one in any color you like as long as it is black.

Wait, was Henry a Democrat?
Or maybe making fun of them?

You aren't seriously thinking they can dump him and have any chance with disaffected Trump voters, are you?

That is a HUGE delusion bc Trump voters are already the most angry birds in the electorate. They will go literally ballistic. You'll need a top notch flak jacket and a helmet.

"We lost because we were not radical/ideologically pure/religionist enough". There are a lot on the GOP side that would favor a CHRISIS sort of state.

Nah, it's most likely what the GOP always does: claim their candidate wasn't fully committed to their cause, and that if they just had followed the party line to the letter, none of this would have happened.

Also, conspiracy theories, like usual. I can already tell you that if Clinton wins I give it a week before the illuminati conspiracy theorists come up with some made up bullshit about Clinton.

Well, there are some people who want to purge american culture of certain things, and that involves getting rid of people who they think represents the problem (or, at least, preventing new ones from coming in). I don't think anyone wants an actual crisis because they don't want to lose money or have something threaten our military power.

And it's the same they'll do to Trump if he loses.

When your platform increasingly becomes garbage and you don't recognize it, the next best thing is to blame your candidate of not sticking to it. The GOP was already beginning to do this to Trump in the primaries basically calling him a Manchurian candidate bought off by the DNC.
