What's the point of speculating about the sexuality of a fictional character?

If it's not mentioned in the source material, that indicates that the author simply didn't think it important enough to be worth calling attention to -- or didn't even conceive of the character with a sexual orientation in the first place. You can think pretty much whatever you want, therefore; all answers are equally correct (or equally incorrect, as the case may be).

What about the Gnostic Christians? They were round half a millenia before Catholicism, with all the other Gospels (Mary Mags, Thomas, Judas). They're referred to as the Apocrypha, because they didn't marry with the myth Emperor Constantine put forward in the Nicean Creed.

What's wrong with that statement is that Catholics are not against homosexual orientation, they are against practising homosexuality. This type of Christian generally venerates someone who is able to repress their "sinful" desires, and would never brand them a "deviant". That's from my experience of Catholics. Personally, I don't see why if Christians still eat pigs and shellfish, they still choose to believe that sodomy is evil. You can't pick and choose which rules to obey! No, I don't think there is anything about being gay or bi that's worse than mixing milk and meat.

As for Elton John? Some attention-seeking fat guy whose music I couldn't give any less of a shit about. Why we have to listen to his worthless opinion about possibly the most influential human being in history, I really don't know (especially when what he says will offend many millions of Christians and Muslims).
