I am not sure I understand 2hat you are telling me, but beating a ticket is always a good thing.

Ok, let me see here. I was stopped yesterday because I just bought my in-laws' car. I didn't have the bill of sale in the car and the trooper thought my tags (in the license plate) were expired. Citations of that nature, for expired tags, are only issued or are within the jurisdiction only of state police and sheriff's deputies inside the town. The state troopers can only dish these out on the highways. I was inside town. In fact, I was parked when he pulled behind me.

Cool every state is different.

Usually here you would get out of it by showing the bill of sale to the judge no matter who wrote the ticket. But here the state, the county pd, the county sheriff, and the local pd, could write that ticket. Now a cop from a different county could not write it, but everyone in line could. (NJ, not nyc, but I think the city is similar).
