Oh wait that's guns.

This is a really depressing story. One of the cons of global news.

What? Was he fucking important?

Because it happened in SCHOOL, a place where every person goes to learn and build there future. And murder in school is a very clear sign that there is serious problem in security of the country.
Anyway this is really depressing story, German Government should do something about this.

No, what it means is that the country has a gang problem, or way too many emos.

It has nothing to do with "security".

It has lot to do with security. For example if I succeed to stab you in mid-day in front of every one in a place that should have been so secure like in school (where no weapons are allowed) then there is some serious problem with Government or Security.

Its not hard to get a knife into a school. I've done it on accident a few times, mostly after deer hunting. I forgot my buck knife in my coat pocket and since they are too cheap to turn the heat on, I wore my coat all day.

Schools are no prisions. If you treat kids like convicts, they will act like convicts.

OK, but you cant take it out of your pocket, there is CCTV every where in school, So if a person has success to stabs some one in front of CCTV there is a problem with security or government of the country.

You really don't get it do you?

Schools are stretched thin enough, do you really tink they pay people to sit and watch dozens or hundreds of camera feeds all day? How would they see a knife in a crowded hallway? They don't check the cameras unless someone reports something.

Yea, you said what I wanted to say. So whose problem is that? The Government's of course, the government should spend more on school security, and security of the community.

Why? So schools are more like prisons? Kids resent school enough as it is, don't you think that constant surveillance will only make it worse?

It may be more like prison but will save children life. How will it make it worse? It will prevent any more of such crimes.

Better to die free than live in slavery.

Following your line of thought, the safest place on earth should be a prison cell.

Yes, just like prison security has eliminated stabbings in prisons.

The only way to prevent any more of such crimes probably involves some Matrix-like arrangement where everyone is safely hooked up and drugged up in a personal little cell forever. And even then you would likely have the occasional abuse by a guard.

No, a stabbing in a school, no matter how big or small, is really shocking and unacceptable anywhere in society. IMO this is straightforwardly shocking to the local community. I do not yet understand what was the motive behind it.

I agree with you, it is not hard to get any sort of weapon into a school, at least where I live. The scary part is a person doesn't always need one. Back when I was in high school, a 2 guys in my class got into a fight over a girl. It escalated until one of them jammed a pen into the others' neck. Thankfully, he survived. My point is all most anything is weapon in the right situation

I could not agree more.
What needs to change is the discipline and what is instilled into the kids as well as atmosphere.
In my country at least when i went to school, every male kid had a pocket knife and most of time with him - i got my first one about 6 y/o. Not saying that those make great arms but the truth is that never i have heard somebody intentionally stabbing someone - there was a few years ago a case that kids were demonstrating one to others a disarmament technique from djudo and the other fell on someone;s scissors but that is about all.
Of course a part of the reason is i would say that as kids we were beating all the time (when we did not play some coll. game) and so a kind of collective developed better - in the west where pretty much every sign of anything is made a huge fuss off, but quite often loads of bullying and bad dynamics go on the bacground it instead leads kids to become so frustrated with the assholes that they take someone's gun or so and trouble occurs.
THis case is not one of them but it shows well how meaningless all these regulations are - banning knifes like in england would solve nothing just like banning guns does little.
Besides such bans are difficult to enforce - even if random searches are done the citizen is the one afraid not the criminal because for protection a citizen needs to have some arm all the time while for a criminal it is enough only when he means busines..

Why? There's still confusion as to what he used. Possibly a scissor. While this isn't likely to be a case of a rampage, the last school rampage had someone's thumb cut off because the person couldn't get her hands on guns.
