I find it funny that conservatives that rile against being "politically correct" suddenly think we can go too far (not you, Greed...but others I have spoken to)

Greed's a conservative? As in popular American discourse?! I always took him for more of a free-agent Libertarian / Lib-Dem (UK) / Teddy Roosevelt type.

I haven't heard Palin bitch about the "inappropriateness" of the show before. If she can't stand the heat, GTFO of the kitchen

Really? That show has made tons of jokes, I haven't heard her come out and say something about each instance or any for that matter. Palin wants to be big and she needs to realize this can come with it.

But picking on her child with mental disabilities seems like ungentlemanly like conduct.

I understand where your coming from. But at the same time so is poking fun at people who are handicap. Or referring to Jeb Bush as the guy who eats puppies or jokes about Catholic priests molesting children. It can all be offensive, depending who you ask or what group is targeted. The question is are we going to handle it like William Donohue does, or just realize it's a crude, but hilarious show that mocks everyone and everything?

Besides, Palin has heard much worse, she a bloody politician, one who is hated by quite a few people as well. Was about time for somebody to take another shot at her.
That being said, family guy could never go overboard unless it went really really overboard, but that would be censored. Eating fetuses maybe?

Jeb bush eating puppies is at the politician himself. If jeb had a mentally handicapped son, I would hesitate to target said child specifically. It seems unnecessarily cruel.
Generalizations about the priesthood and handicapped is one thing, targeting an individual whose level of comprehension might preclude realization that the joke is at their expense seems to be in very poor form.
Sort of like the jocks in high school who picked on the retards because their hot sister wouldn't date said jock.

Yeah I know we all hate Palin and think she is a nut.
Is it not a little past even a comedy show to reference her child with Down's syndrome?

Not the point, I think - more that she herself said that she considered abortion when she found out, but that she triumphed over it.
She made a big deal about not aborting her DS son.
