Do you ask others to pray for you?

No, I don't, personally. Not that I have a problem with it.

I don't understand why we need 'help' in contacting the Father except through the gateway of Christ.

Yep. There's no difference between me asking someone in this thread to pray for me and asking a Saint to pray for me.

Just saw a movie on EWTN about St. Giuseppe Moscati. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

I ask people to pray for me all the time. Mainly because I need the prayers.

But that's the thing. In the Body of Christ, we're a family. We help each other out physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

Or as Needtobreathe puts it:

I ain't made for a rivalry, I can never take the world alone.

I know that in my weakness I am strong, but it's your love that brings me home.

Or Gavin DeGraw, depending on whether it's the single-version or the album-cut. (I prefer the single, with Gavin.)

A Saint isn't a gate way to the Father. You can pray to your Father in heaven all you want. Heck even the Rosary starts with and includes many repetitions of the "Our Father." A Saint is a person who has be assumed into Heaven. They're venerable Christians who you pray to essentially be in your corner, and pray on your behalf as well. Very few saints are actually invoked to do anything more. I believe St. Michael (being an Archangel) is the only one.

You're injecting meaning where none exists. I never said only saints could pray, or that God doesn't hear prayers. MY comment was about proximity, not ability.

Following that logic, why do you pray at all in the first place? After all, since God already knows what you want, why bother to say it out loud in words?
