So, with the season over, seems like a good time to discuss the draft and free agency. The most interesting things coming up to me is Dragan Bender in the draft, as well as the free agency of Demar DeRozan and Joakim Noah. Bender is absolutely the biggest question mark in the draft. With European players, you either seem to get a Dirk or a Darko. He's currently projected to go 7th, but that's largely due to roles, and people can easily choose who they see as the best player available. DeRozan isn't the biggest name in free agency, but KD is likely to stay in OKC. DeRozan, will probably leave Toronto. Rumours have him going to the Lakers which would be a good fit, but I see LA struggling even more next year due to the lack of Kobe guiding them.

I'm sure we'll have plenty of people claiming LeBron is the greatest because of this. I still won't put him above Kareem, MJ, Wilt, Hakeem, Magic, or Russell. I'm not even sure he's better than Bird.

The Onion put out this gem of an article recently.

Also, we know that Richard Jefferson (aka San Antonio's Justin Schultz) is for sure retiring. He announced it right after the Cavs won.

Speaking of San Antonio, Draymond Green's mother set her sights on Tim Duncan via Twitter.

His most dominant years, imo, were probably the most dominant any centre could've had since Wilt and KAJ. I obviously compared Shaq with LeBron though. Comparing him to MJ23 is a suicide, lol.

A rather old article, but it is one with an interesting viewpoint: the city of Dallas "blew it" by letting the Dallas Chaparrals move from Dallas to San Antonio.

I don't think the argument works, though. Who's to say things would've happened as they have had they stayed in Dallas?

GS was overhyped all year, and this choke was worse than when the Yankees let Boston into a WS a few years back.

Winning the most games ever wasn't hype, it was fact.

I don't understand this sport mentality. Instead of talking about the monumental job Lebron did and the Cavs in coming back against the winningest team in NBA history, people seemingly want to downgrade the true unbelievable outrageousness of the feat by shitting on who they beat. "It isn't enough to win, I gotta make sure the team that lost feels *extra* diminished!" I see it too often and it is my biggest pet peeve regarding fandom.

Yeah, but the Warriors, who had flashy offensive skills, played two games in Oracle, with a death lineup, lost to the Cavs. They couldn't score for four minutes of game 7, the last four minutes!!!

No more "greatest team ever", that remains the Bulls (what a relief!)

But I do not want to say "choke", although Klay did (a slap at Curry?). Saying that the loser choked takes deserved credit away from the winners.

All credit should go to Cleveland.

I share your peeve. We see it in all sports these days, unless it is an absolute blowout or runaway victory. Tennis. Golf. The winner never seems to get recognition for the accomplishment, all we here about is how the game was lost, not won.

My theory is that this coverage is aimed at guys who want to argue in bars. That seems to be the flavor it takes on.

What about the Warriors that couldn't score in the final 4:39 of Game 7? At least a couple of baskets should fall in. The Warriors are literally punching walls and let a moment slip away, especially at the final minutes. Literally, a college team could score more or even a highly incompetent team like the 76ers can score in the final 4:39. Biggest choke in the history of chokes.

I share this very peeve. I see it all too often attached to "Golden State's fanbase is all bandwagoners!" and other such crap. Nevermind that a lot of people applauding the Cavs are the exact same who shat all over 'em, and especially Lebron, when the Warriors won last year....

Youtube's full of this sort of thing. Go to any highlights video of any sport and you'll see it all and then some. It's pretty lame, honestly.
