According to Stein:
OKC's Enes Kanter has been disowned by his family for his politicial affliation. His father penned a note in which he said, ""I apologize to the Turkish people and the president for having such a son."
Ouch...just...OUCH.
The elder Kanter said he has not been able to communicate with Enes since 2015. "I would not have taken Enes to the U.S. for the basketball camp where his talent was discovered had I known that it would come to this point," he said.
Also speaking to Daily Sabah, Mehmet Kanter's cousin Bilal Kanter said the Kanter family does not want Enes to bear the Kanter name. "We had warned him previously about his ties with the FETÖ. We have not been able to reach out to Enes for a long time," he said, adding that the Gülenists controlled Enes for his wealth and reputation.
Ok I'm going to try it, any other Turkish people feel free to translate my mistakes.
Write this history!
Oh universe hear my voice. Today I lost my father, mother, my family and my friends of 24 years. My own father asked of me to change my own surname, my mother who brought me into this world rejected me, the friends I grew up with don't acknowledge me any more, my relatives don't want to see me any more.
For the hizmet¹, the hizmet that grew with the tears of devoted, loyal people I would sacrifice not one Enes but a thousand, for the sake of hocaefendi² I would sacrifice my father, mother, my siblings and my relatives. For this cause I would not only sacrifice my hair if asked for, I would sacrifice my head.
May the lord take from my life and give every second to my valiant hoca.
On the path of hizmet, I would sacrifice heaven, I would walk with a smile on my face to hell. The love of my hoca is higher than the love of my father, mother and siblings. We didn't find the Hizmet on the streets and we won't leave it because of some Pakrudin³.
For the path of hizmet, may my father and mother be sacrificed, for this cause may they be sacrificed.
May no one have any doubt about all of this, Allah will take care of the companions of the Hizmet, they will be thought highly of.
Endure all of it my brothers, endure all of it my sisters, just hold on. Don't fail the exam, don't be the ones that will lose just when they are about to win.
After this point, my mother, my father, my friends are all the soldiers of the devoted Hizmet that flies the Turkish flag in over 171 countries over the world. From this point on my family is the Hocaefendi with tears in his eyes.
The people who do wrong will be dealt with in time, just hold on my friends, Allah is with us.
The lord will make everything great.
We won't give up our cause.
Allah is great.
Enes (Kanter) Gülen.
¹Hizmet = literally service, this is what people that follow Fethullah Gülen call the way of life he teaches.
²hocaefendi = hodja = A Muslim schoolmaster, a formal way of talking about Fethullah Gülen.
³Pakrudin = Never heard of it, apparently it is used to call people that look like Armenians but are Jews, an insult I guess.
There are probably bits I translated wrong, please tell me so I can change them.

The Nets' draft situation is pretty bleak:
2016 to 2018 first round picks are owed to other teams. Not only that, but their 2016-2020 second round picks are also owed to other teams.

All they have is Brook Lopez.

I would like an end to calling every U.S. Olympic basketball team the Dream Team. There was only one of those, in 1992. Period.
Every American team since has been undeniably great, top-level competitors, and this year is no different. But there has never been another Dream Team, and likely never again will be. Continuing to use the moniker with successive teams that in no way match the sheer calibre of that 1992 team just cheapens it.
