Gotta love Steve Kerr. "I haven't made the decision but he might start" in regards to Durant :p

This off season keeps getting interesting.
In solidarity with Ukraine, I will be censoring the letters Z and V from my signature. This is -ery much so a big change, but it should be a -ery positi-e one. -olodymyr -elensky and A-o- continue to fight for Ukraine while the Russians are still trying to e-entually make their way to Kharki-, -apori-h-hia, and Kry-yi Rih, but that will take time as they are concentrated in areas like Bakhmut, -uledar, and other areas in Donetsk. We will see Shakhtar play in the Europa League but Dynamo Kyi- already got eliminated. Shakhtar managed to play well against Florentino Pere-'s Real Madrid who feature superstars like -inicius, Ben-ema, Car-ajal, and -al-erde. Some prominent Ukrainian players that got big transfers elsewhere include Oleksander -inchenko, Illya -abarnyi, and Mykhailo Mudryk.

Durant opens up about his decision to go to Golden State.

It's also being reported that Westbrook was put off by Durant's friendship with Draymond Green.

Also, the Pistons continue their apparent love of picking up the Spurs' big men as they offer sheeted Boban Marjanovic after the Spurs signed Dwayne Dedmond (who apparently chose us over the Warriors). Another fan favorite of Spurs Nation leaving, which is quite sad, but Dwayne Dedmond looks to be quite the solid pickup. Good 'ol Spurs front office: lose one player, replace with a younger, cheaper, very possibly better alternative. :p

It was also reported that Manu Ginobli turned down quite the offer to remain with the Spurs, however:

Tom Orsborn
‏@tom_orsborn
OK, to clarify: Manu's agent said Manu turned down a "very serious, big offer" from another team to return to #Spurs.

That's the silver lining in the storm cloud.

I have new award predictions.

Kawhi Leonard will be MVP. I think Westbrook has been badly rattled by the KD move. Rumours have it he's being traded, but I don't know who would want a one year rental.

Ingram will be ROTY, because he'll get more exposure and more points.

Jamal Crawford will win 6th man because that's what he does

I think Fournier will get most improved with the departure of Oladipo.

The team that will gain the most wins will be Indiana, what with their much improved roster. I see them in the Eastern conference finals. We'll also see big improvements in Detroit, Utah and Minnesota, while Atlanta, OKC and Miami will drop the most

After picking up Warriors castoffs Harrison Barnes and Andrew Bogut (while Festus Ezeli heads to Portland), the Mavs have signed someone else with connections to Golden State.

Seth Curry, Steph Curry's brother, is bound for Dallas.

As Tim's decision draws near, the city of San Antonio is working on keeping him the Jaromir Jagr of the NBA.

The Spurs' 29th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Dejounte Murray, recently made his debut in the Summer League. Check out this pretty nice move he did against the Celts.

Not only that, but he carries the blessing of Lebron:

Jeff McDonald ✔ @JMcDonald_SAEN
Just put Dejounte Murray on speaker here at Spurs HQ. He was mid-conversation with a well-wisher telling him good luck. It was LeBron James.

Jeff McDonald ✔ @JMcDonald_SAEN
What did LeBron tell Murray? "He said 'You're going to one of the best organizations in the world.' "

Not only did he hear from him, but he also met Lebron here.

Really digging what I'm seeing of this kid on the court and off of it too with how he's ready to play for Coach Pop.

According to KSAT (a San Antonio news station), Tim Duncan has delayed making his decision out of respect for the fallen officers in Dallas:

KSAT reporting that Tim Duncan's announcement will be delayed a few days out of respect for the fallen officers #Classy #SpursNation

First thought was that this means he's retiring, but it really doesn't mean anything other than Tim is genuinely respectful of others. His decision is very anticipated, so it'll make news either way.

Timmy won't even be at his own retirement press conference:

Adrian Wojnarowski
‏@WojVerticalNBA
Gregg Popovich will hold news conference on Tuesday at 1 Spurs Lane. Just Pop. Duncan will leave NBA as he dominated it: Quietly, peerless.

He retires having led the Spurs to the best winning percentage (.710) of all sports. It's the best win percentage of any team from the NBA, NFL, MLB or NHL over the last nineteen years. The only player in league history to start and win a title in three different decades. With Gregg Popovich, he has the most wins by a player-coach duo in NBA history (1,001). Holds all records in the Spurs franchise. Duncan leaves the NBA ranked second in playoff wins, first in playoff double-doubles and third in rebounds. No player in NBA history has logged more playoff minutes than Tim Duncan (9,370). Made the playoffs each of his 19 seasons since the Spurs drafted him in 1997. Only three players in NBA history tallied at least 25,000 career points, 15,000 rebounds & 4,000 assists: Wilt, Kareem and Tim Duncan. He has more wins in his career than entire teams do:

Image

Just as Barkley said:

'I have seen the future, and he wears number 21'.

It can't be said enough just how pivotal Duncan was to us in Spurs Nation. Our entire team culture was built around him. If we don't get the #1 pick in '97, we're a shade of the team we are now. We owe just about everything to Duncan.

Thank you once again, Timmy!
