€22 million scraped together and it's still not a safe bet for a sufficiently sized home. I could buy a Dublin 7 street for that much but oy, Monaco.

What do you consider decent? In the states that money would get you a gigantic place.

Most of it went into medical care and therapies for my little brother and my dad storing it away from us though. Now I make around 12K a year.

To put it into perspective, a decent studio apartment here costs at least 3 million.

If a house is worth 22 million to buy, it will probably have a huge rent monthly too. So if you live there a long time, it may add up. Although it might be easier to find a good house to rent rather than buy.
