Yeah but who cares at this point? Though it does look like he might do decently in the rust belt states in the general. While he is unlikely to win enough, it might help the Republicans actually pick up some house seats there.

This does not appear to be about Trump. Also NC was forced to redistrict, it was incumbent v incumbent.

It was expected though. She really got herself in trouble for supporting such legislation.

Trump just withdrew from the race. Paul Ryan will most likely be the nominee.

While I've made jokes about this, I think that's a good thing. If Trump wins, he shouldn't be overriden. If they let someone like him be able to run, it's their fault if they get destroyed. A group of elected officials shouldn't be able to override the voters, even if ,well, they're elected as well.

Yes, I'm one of those people against the concept of superdelegates. That's the one thing the Republican side does wrong right (God damn it apparently my mind thinks it is opposite day). Of course they ruin that with winner take all states....

Or if they didn't have winner-take-all primaries, they wouldn't be in this situation.

Trump won with only like 42% of the vote. If they had split evenly, they would have gotten their contested convention they were hoping for, and we might still have Cruz and Kasich in here. But because of the winner take all, Trump was pretty much guaranteed to get what he needs no matter if Cruz or Kasich stayed in.

Trump would still very likely be the nominee, even assuming proportional awarding of delegates. California would be a clean sweep, after all, he's up against the Zodiac Killer. People don't forget these things. ;)

Or if they awarded delegates proportionally.

The GOP, continuing their hilarious short-sightedness streak, packed the primary with winner take all and winner take most states with the expectation that it would help the (establishment obviously) front runner quickly lock out all the other crazies and vanity runners and thus avoid a drawn out fight like Romney had.

It evidently never occurred to them to stop and ask what would happen if the field was crowded and the establishment was divided and one of those crazies managed to get a plurality. :p

If the Democratic primary ran on Republican rules, Bernie would have been buried in March.

If the Republican primary ran on Democratic rules, they would have gotten their contested convention and could have ousted Trump easily.
