Politifact explained that Trump is basically a serial liar.

http://www.politifact.com/personalities/donald-trump/

His % of statements that are mostly false, false or "pants on fire" has gone up to 78. Compare that to Bernie and Hillary who both hover around 30 and Cruz on 64.

It can be surmised to a fair degree that Trump rallies are fact free zones. GOP debates got high ratings for a reason, people wanted to tune in to see what new lies they kept coming up with.

Now a couple of % difference could be explained by some built in bias in the Politifact model, but the differences are a yawning canyon. The reason, I think, is that reality refuses to conform to RW rhetoric.

Speaking of fraud, a federal judge unsealed socuments related to Trump University yesterday, its practically confirmed as a moneygrubbing scam based on lies.

And hey Donny, we only just started. There is a treasure trove of lies, scams and fraud in Donald's history that for some reason his fellow GOP'hers left nearly untouched.

Fortunately the general election electorate isn't the same as the GOP primary electorate.

Inverted Flag Law: US Code Title 4 Section 8 Paragraph (a): The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
The United States of America has been in a state of dire distress since November 8, 2016. Flying the flag upside down is not only our right, it is our duty!

If politifact has some bias it's not for or against either party. If you look through the ratings for various people who ran this year you'll see ratings all over the spectrum on both sides. Trump stands out as the most dishonest of any of them. WRA's "All politicians do it" is false equivalence of the most absurd kind.

Not to mention tired old edginess.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.
Where is your God-Emperor now?

That must be a quote from Trump's new follow-up book on his very own and quite particular political theories, "The Art of the Con."

Donnie's tweet quoting Obama draws attention to that part of Obama's speech:

Rutgers University commencement speech wrote:Which brings me to my third point: Facts, evidence, reason, logic, an understanding of science—these are good things. These are qualities you want in people making policy. These are qualities you want to continue to cultivate in yourselves as citizens. That might seem obvious. That's why we honor Bill Moyers or Dr. Burnell.

We traditionally have valued those things. But if you were listening to today’s political debate, you might wonder where this strain of anti-intellectualism came from. So, Class of 2016, let me be as clear as I can be. In politics and in life, ignorance is not a virtue. It's not cool to not know what you're talking about. That's not keeping it real, or telling it like it is. That's not challenging political correctness. That's just not knowing what you're talking about. And yet, we've become confused about this.

Look, our nation’s Founders—Franklin, Madison, Hamilton, Jefferson—they were born of the Enlightenment. They sought to escape superstition, and sectarianism, and tribalism, and know-nothingness. They believed in rational thought and experimentation, and the capacity of informed citizens to master our own fates. That is embedded in our constitutional design. That spirit informed our inventors and our explorers, the Edisons and the Wright Brothers, and the George Washington Carvers and the Grace Hoppers, and the Norman Borlaugs and the Steve Jobses. That's what built this country.

And today, in every phone in one of your pockets we have access to more information than at any time in human history, at a touch of a button. But, ironically, the flood of information hasn’t made us more discerning of the truth. In some ways, it’s just made us more confident in our ignorance. We assume whatever is on the web must be true. We search for sites that just reinforce our own predispositions. Opinions masquerade as facts. The wildest conspiracy theories are taken for gospel.

Now, understand, I am sure you’ve learned during your years of college—and if not, you will learn soon—that there are a whole lot of folks who are book smart and have no common sense. That's the truth. You’ll meet them if you haven't already. So the fact that they’ve got a fancy degree—you got to talk to them to see whether they know what they’re talking about. Qualities like kindness and compassion, honesty, hard work—they often matter more than technical skills or know-how.

But when our leaders express a disdain for facts, when they’re not held accountable for repeating falsehoods and just making stuff up, while actual experts are dismissed as elitists, then we’ve got a problem.

You know, it's interesting that if we get sick, we actually want to make sure the doctors have gone to medical school, they know what they’re talking about. If we get on a plane, we say we really want a pilot to be able to pilot the plane. And yet, in our public lives, we certainly suddenly think, “I don't want somebody who’s done it before.” The rejection of facts, the rejection of reason and science — that is the path to decline. It calls to mind the words of Carl Sagan, who graduated high school here in New Jersey — he said: “We can judge our progress by the courage of our questions and the depths of our answers, our willingness to embrace what is true rather than what feels good.”

So our friend Trump can quote others, but the press can't quote him because that is 'dishonest reporting' by the 'liberal media'.

Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Trump! (apologies to the Beatles)

For the benefit of Mr. Trump
There will be a speech tonight for xenophobes

The KKK will all be there
All Dressed up in long white sheets, not even robes!

Over men and horses, burning crosses
Lastly starts a civil war, with gunfire!
In this way Mr. Trump will challenge the world!

The celebrated Mr.Trump
Performs his speech on Saturday, he’s full of hate

The KKK will lynch and sing
As Mr. Trump says he makes America great!

Messrs. Trump and Duke will build a wall
It's construction will be second to none
And of course Mexico will pay for it all!

The lies begins at ten to six
When Mr. Trump makes you sick, as he expounds

And the Klansmen will demonstrate
Ten Mexicans they’ll undertake, underground

Having been some days in preparation
A funeral is guaranteed for them all
And tonight Mr. Trump skips out on the bill!

Huh. For some reason, I couldn't find this thread earlier, so I posted this story in the Trump vs. Clinton one. It fits better here, though.

My hometown newspaper, one with an old school conservative editorial stance, has refused to endorse Trump in the primary, and is instead endorsing writing in Ronald Reagan's name.
