Trump supports spending on tech rather than manpower, and to start turning a profit out of military protection of countries instead of a loss. If our military started providing revenue, that would be a very different matter.

You have countries pay (to the point we make a profit) for military protection and bases. If they don't want to pay, then don't have bases there.

I disagree.

Even if you make the very dangerous and dubious assumption that he does not mean and/or will not be able to act on what he says, the mere fact of his election would do immeasurable damage. It would further legitimize bigotry and political violence as part of the mainstream of American politics, even establish them, potentially, as the dominant ideology. It would make minorities and women feel far more threatened in America. It would make us even more look like dangerous fools in the eyes of the rest of the world. And it would cause economic instability due to fear of what his presidency might cause.

I'm an isolationist as such couldn't care less what foreigners think of my nation but you do make some points. My suggestion would be to fight fire with fire, if you really believe that so much you gotta respond in turn.

Islam has been in Russia for over a thousand years, in large numbers. Putin treating Muslims well and even funding mosques makes good sense, it's part of Russia's culture and shouldn't be ignored.

The fact that he left his wife is not in dispute.

Kadyrov is a murderous Islamist sociopath. And yes Putin supports Islam when it politically benefits them.

Pint is Putin is a much a Christian as Trump is. Both are serial philanders who left their wives. And only pretend to be Christian when convenient.

It makes no real sense. But these same people love Trump, who does not act in the least bit Christian. I think in a scary uncertain world they cling to any show of strength, even if fake. They see Putin and Trump as brave warriors against the oncoming darkness, but of course this is complete BS.

They support the false imagine they have of Putin and Trump. Not the real Putin and Trump. The Alt right visons of Trump and Putin are as real as the Wizard of Oz.
