Reinstate the Bellamy Salute

In between the 1895 and 1941, a much different form of the Pledge of Allegiance was used by Americans citizens. It involved extending ones right arm towards the flag during the saying of the accompanying words.

Obviously, in December of 1941 when World War II spread to America, it was dropped to not cause confusion with the Nazi or Italian salutes. But now, over 75 years later, is it it really necesary to continue the death of such a great symbol of unity and freedom? Would'nt it be beneficial, to try and help put an end to the legacy of Hitler?

No. Just no. Other countries* would kill us if tried to bring it back, as now many people** take it as a Nazi salute.

Fair point, but wouldn't we have the duty, to try and lessen their legacy? All they wanted was attention for the insane view points and actions.

It won't happen that way ps everyone will always remember the Nazis for who they were and why they did things cause that time period was so well documented and preserved for future generations to learn.

Honestly, the pledge is unnecessary in general. More of an inconvenience and waste of time.

Making it even more weirdly ritualistic with a salute is kind of a step in the wrong direction.

All they wanted was to commit Genocide, they didn't want attention, the goal of the Deutsch Arbeit Party was to create a socialist Germany, and they chose Judaism as a scapegoat for their own failed decisions. Agreed, but with the whole package: gladiator fights, bull fights, persecutions of christians, decimation, crucifixion and sacrifices to the Emperor. You cannot revive a symbol without the whole culture from which it originates, can you?
