At this point, we've pretty much proven that not only can evolution happen, it pretty much must happen since it's basically impossible to prevent it from happening.

Wow, these sites are really getting cleverer, it seems. The casual tone almost makes me think it's a personal message, haha. Funny thing is, I had to deactivate my main ad-blocker to even see that message, but another extension is still blocking some advertisers, which apparently caused that message to pop up.
The easy solution is to stop using ad blockers. They're essentially theft.

Forbes doesn't need my service then. I'm not disabling adblocker for shit, I'll consider it when websites stop letting computer-killing ads display on their webpages. That's like a hooker asking you to not wear a condom.

It's as much theft as reading a newspaper on a newspaper stand. Or a book in a bookstore. If internet sites had never started the wave of obnoxious, screen-filling advertising, sometimes with sounds and pop-ups, then the ad-blockers would have never become so popular. In some cases, they even protect the security of the browser since they prevent hijacked ads with malicious content to load.

Video ads in particular are, and if you are on a mobile device you are paying for those bits being downloaded to you. The advertiser has no explicit right to make anyone watch their ads.

Unless you're accessing piracy sites on PCs made of dried leaves I have no idea how ads could possibly have that much of an effect.

It's their site, you obey their rules. If you don't like their rules, don't go there.

Adblockers are theft. Your computer becoming infected by malicious adware is perfectly acceptable. Submit to your corporate overlords!

Drive-by downloads can happen on all pages, even the most reputable ones.
