That does NOT make it automatically right, of course, but it should be enough to take it seriously, without dismissing it so easily. saying "it's just spewing ridiculousness".

Kathleen Richardson is an expert in ethics of robots, at a very high level, also part of this project http://www.dream2020.eu/
That doesn't mean she's right, but it's far away from "ridicolous".
Honestly, I think that many people here are so prone to ridiculise this effort towards gender equality just because the majority of people here are young males, not because it sounds ridicolous, but just because it somewhat hurts them.
Personally I think that doctor Kathleen Richardson is a good example about why we need to have more women in STEM: it's not just a matter of fairness but even, and even more, a matter of having a different way of thinking about some issues.

Hun. I'm a woman, and I think your ideas are fucking insane. Nice job applying a sweeping generalisation, and being condescending. You're not worth the time.

Truth be told, getting riled up over sex bots is rather ridiculous. If she tells me she's worried about the state of women in India or China. Or marital abuse in the Middle East, or gendercide in Southern Asia, then yes, I would definitely back her on her points because those are actually important. But she's complaining about an inanimate object. This is bullshit, really.

Where's the outrage over the 70,000 Native American women who were forced or manipulated into being sterilised and dropping Native American birth rates from 3.8 to 1.2 in the 1970s? I whole heartedly agree with you. This thread isn't worth the waste of space, it's a shit discussion over a shit topic. It's impossible to debate with someone who does the equivalent of sticking their fingers in their ears, and about the only thing I'd find more entertaining than this is bashing my head in the wall to rejolt my braincells.
Not only that, but the "solutions" presented are so laughably misandrist that it astonishes me such people exist who could honestly thing this is such a good idea. If we're going to ban sex robots, then I'm going to have to go and throw my vibrators out for "harming men", but oh no, that's not being advocated for. It's bullshit.

It is indeed quite misandrist. It's actually supremacist in a way.
I think feminism has better things to do, or should have better things to do than engaging in a bitching spell about something that is, really, a non-issue. Lets focus on actual worthy issues.

The Radfem movement is the worst thing to ever happen to the Feminist movement. It has entirely defaced feminists and spawned reactionary groups because of their absolute batshit motivations.

All that remains is to show that biological systems replicate in such a way as to satisfy the minimal criteria required for evolution to apply to them, something which has already been adequately shown time and again. At this point, we've pretty much proven that not only can evolution happen, it pretty much must happen since it's basically impossible to prevent it from happening.

As with so many things on the internet, I often wonder if it is just some kind of outrageous parody.

It would be an easily identifiable fantasy experience.

How does that have anything to do with what I posted, the post I was quoting, or the thread as a whole?
I was highlighting his flawed logic by referencing the old myth that playing violent video games made people more violent.

As a bit of a conspiracy theorist, it actually occured to me that the more radical end of feminism that has gotten so popular recently is actually a creation of rich, powerful men seeking to derail and delay a shift in the power structure. It simultaneously splits the support by dividing the movement, and creates a vocal opposition to feminist attitudes in general as a reaction to the extreme and often absurd positions of the radicals. It essentially does toward the whole of feminism what the extremist groups do to Islam. By essentially being a hyperbolic version of itself, the radical branch greatly weakens the basic tenents.
