Call me 'conservative' whatsoever, but I think that allowing incest is crossing the so-called, badly defined, general border of acceptance. *Yuck*

Nobody is equalling the two. I'm just asking, to those who oppose incest based on risk of genetic diseases on offspring, whether they'd be ok if the partners were of the same sex as in this instance there would be no offspring.

Sadly the way the bill is structured it is sort of equaling the two, a reason why some liberals would oppose the bill.

People are split on the morality between the two. I find most people are OK with incest between adults but find necrophilia disgusting and a bad idea overall to legalize... Like me.

So, did someone already disprove the necrophilia claim in those 50 pages, because this reminds me of the "Austrian law banning islam" thing that happened a while ago, that has proven that american tabloids have terrible translators.

You're gonna have to clarify... I don't think any of us speak Swedish, so anything about the Swedish language is lost on us.

It was proposed by a youth wing of a right-wing Swedish party. Which is like narrowly focusing on some college Young Republican group callng for afffirmative action and gun bans.

Somebody on this site has to speak swedish, and he could check if it's actually true that the "ebul librals" want to legalise necrophilia. (I sadly, dont speak swedish)

I was refering to this topic: http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=332135 where an american newspaper claimed that a new austrian law forced imams to preach in german, something I could find nothing of in the actual legislation (on the botom part of the OP, is the translation of the law i made, if you are interested)

Incest generally means "familial sexual relations". In that vein even an adopted son having sex with their "sister" would constitute as incest.

The only reason why incest is a hard line to cross is because familial bonds exist. Once those familial bonds are no longer there for any reason, it is easier to approach the topic.

I do find necrophilia a bit over the top. Why would it be fine to have sex with dead people, or even permitted?

You have it backwards. For a thing to be illegal there must be a stated reason why it is not "fine."

Necrophilia is gross, and probably unsanitary. But then that applies to a lot of sex acts. The only tricky thing about it is consent, which would necessarily have to be given well in advance; so it's unlike other sex acts in that way, but is that really an insurmountable obstacle? We have organ donor cards after all, couldn't this be like that?

Personally, I don't have a problem with some pervert having a go at me while I'm fresh. I would, of course, want it to be made absolutely sure that I was dead first, but then presumably that would be important to them as well.

Because it harms nobody? If someone is dead already and they were ok with it, the crime is victimless.

Yea, but... doesn't the body decompose? Like, what the fuck are you gonna do to preserve the body, inject a ton of formaldehyde in it?

Necro sounds messed-up to someone like me who has a problem with death anxiety. I wouldn't give consent...or maybe I would...but that's too scary for me to think about clearly.
Incest is okay, I guess...I mean, some of my cousins are really hot. Plus I'm not technically related to them any more than I am to likely most or all of NSG.

The United Colonies of Earth exists:
to encourage settlement of all habitable worlds in the Galaxy and perhaps the Universe by the human race;
to ensure that human rights are respected, with force if necessary, and that all nations recognize the inevitable and unalienable rights of all human beings regardless of their individual and harmless differences, or Idiosyncrasies;
to represent the interests of all humankind to other sapient species;
to protect all humanity and its’ colonies from unneeded violence or danger;
to promote technological advancement and scientific achievement for the happiness, knowledge and welfare of all humans;
and to facilitate cooperation in the spheres of law, transportation, communication, and measurement between nation-states.

I wouldn't have a problem with necrophilia if they seek out only fresh bodies, to be fair.

But the whole decomposing factor is not all that great. Wouldn't the stench of dead people fall under property ordinances?

It is something I have a massively negative interesting looking into, but I imagine that genuine necrophiliacs have elaborate systems in place to deal with all sorts of eventualities.

Interesting thing about embalming, it apparently only lasts for around three weeks. Embalming is really only meant for open casket funerals and such, and can't truly stop decomposition.

Which not only makes necrophilia morally dubious, what with consent and how we should treat the deceased, but also rather impractical.

That would require an additional piece of legislation mandating that everyone walk around with a big sign over their head advertising their sexual interests.

Of course, these are Swedes we're talking about. They're already so uneasy that they can't even talk to each other. Something like that might actually break the tension, and usher in a golden age of fetish-based discourse.
