I really don't think that's what's happening at all. Incest has been a thread topic on NSG for longer than "Sweden Does A Thing" has been grade-A clickbait(I r8 8/8 etc), and from what I've seen the general theme of the opinions expressed hasn't changed much. You have people saying that if that's what consenting adults want to do then that's their business, people saying that but only if there's no impregnating, people saying no incest ever because inbreeding is bad, and people saying no incest ever because it's gross.

Actually in Sweden it is a bit different. Every ideology in Sweden is more toward left than its european counterparts. The "conservative" Moderate Party for instance allowed mass immigration to Sweden and flexibiled the laws so migrants cannot be deported.

to play devils advocate, can you think of any reason why, in addition to cutting it up or burning it, having sex with the body of a person who pre-authortized it should be illegal beyond "eww"? who is the victim of this crime?

I definitely agree with the legalization of consensual sex between adults, even if they are siblings, though at the same time I have to admit that I am struggling a bit with the proposal concerning dead people since it doesn't really leave any ability for the dead person to rescind their authorization (since they are dead)

I'm very disturbed by necrophilia, simply because I sanctify the body after death. It just seems wrong to use the body for sexual desire after death. But I suppose there would be nothing wrong with it if there was written consent. But then, consent could be faked. Or people could be forced into selling their bodies after death to feed their children. And a dead person cannot revoke consent, which is a pretty big deal.

So, all in all, I'm okay with incest as long as we take appropriate measures, and I think the necrophilic situation is too complex to legalize just yet.
