What happens in ties then? I thought there always had to be an odd number of justices.

If there is a tie vote, then the lower court's decision stands, the same as if the Supreme Court had not taken up the appeal at all.

Did you forget... Senate Republicans will be blocking it now. They've lost their stone of conservatism and will probably keep the courts closed for years to come if Clinton or Sanders win the election.

She has done nothing for the immigrant community and, in a bid of opportunism, lambasted San Francisco and other so-called "Sanctuary" cities, effectively turning legal immigrants and naturalized citizens who know illegal immigrants against her.

Basically, at this point in the campaign, the Latino vote which is supposed to influence the election is split between Sanders, Clinton, and some are skeptical of Trump now that we know he's a blowhard.
