Yeah, but if there hasn't been a serious move to impeach Clarence Thomas over blatant conflicts of interest, then it seems unlikely to happen.

You don't have to be in Congress to be Speaker of the House nor a judge to be on the SCOTUS. Or a general or politician to be President. But you can't simultaneously hold office in 2 or 3 of the 3 branches of the government. Just one.

So why is Joe Biden Vice President and president of the Senate?

EL PASO -- An El Paso source close to Justice Antonin Scalia tells ABC-7 that the 79-year-old died in his sleep last night after a day of quail hunting at Cibolo Creek Ranch outside of Marfa, Texas.

The Justice did not report feeling ill and retired to his room after dinner. The source, who was traveling with Scalia, told ABC-7 an El Paso priest has been called to Marfa.

Scalia was the longest-serving current Justice on the Supreme Court. He was appointed by President Ronald Reagan in 1986.

It's possible that this is a fake story, but I'll put it here for now. It would be indecorous of me to try to discuss what this means for the future of the Court, but it's also hard to refrain.

EDIT: Not a fake story. It's being confirmed by multiple sources.

Thoughts?

I went to middle school one of his Grand-Daughters.

Anyways, I'm really interested in who Obama's appointee is going to be. Judging by his history, I'd guess, just guess, probably female possibly a minority, but above all with a really solid civil rights record.

Having 3 Supreme Court appointees is quite the legacy, I'm really curious as to whom he's going to appoint.

One has possible FBI investigations and Jeb Bush is battling for 3rd due to Ted Cruz and Donald Trump. We have no viable candidates in this batch. A sure one termer is up ahead.

I don't think so. No one wants another clinton or bush.

Sadly, what we need is another Reagan or Kennedy, but there doesn't seem to be one available.

I think it was mentioned before, but stalling isn't gonna help the GOP, the lower courts are mostly liberal. And their decisions are the ones that matter in the event the the SCOTUS is tied.

Haven't several recent decisions come down 4/5? With 8 Justices, you would have either a strong decision or a deadlock tie. This might be to some advantage.
