Are you surprised? What else did you expect?

Yes. But nobody the he appoints is likely to be acceptable. Let's not pretend this is not purely political. Obama's appointment will not be impartial but almost certainly hyper partisan.
I mean, if I was Obama, I'd nominate Kim Jong-un for shits and giggles. He's never going to nominate anybody Senate Republicans would confirm, because anyone acceptable would make Ronald Reagan look like Karl Marx.Yumyumsuppertime wrote:
Honestly, the brusqueness and dismissiveness are oddly charming once you get used to them.
And a while after that, it rolls right back around to being unpleasant.

Predictable as the time of the sunrise tomorrow.
As Biden said, "this is a big fucking deal." Especially if Barrack nominates himself to the SCOTUS and the GOP confirm him to get him out of the White House.
Biden becomes POTUS. Then at the convention the superdelegates decide they prefer him and his incumbency and leave an Email plagued Hillary. Not feeling comfortable with Bernie, the convention goes into numerous ballots and finally it's re-elect the President, President Biden gets the nomination. Make a damn good book. Speaking of books, Vegas odds would be interesting to see on this scenario, lol. 7500-1

That is not their real concern. Let's stop pretending the Supreme Court is not hyper political. It is clear neither side on the court gives a crap about Constitution most of the time.
Neither side cares about the constitution. Just about winning.

Well, when anyone can point out where foreign opinions matter in a purely American internal affair, please do so.

And mind you, Obama doesn't leave office until next January.
That's a long time to flatly refuse to do your constitutional duty.
The Republicans are going out on a limb here by announcing they will block any nominee made by Obama for the next eleven months.

That would be quite entertaining. Can I get the book pre-publication?

Do you think they will lose Senate seats out of this, though?

Unless he didn't leave the White House. I mean, does it say anywhere that you can't be President and a Supreme Court justice at the same time? Presijustice Obama.
