Does Bigfoot Exist?

I'm a Bigfoot agnostic. It seems theoretically possible, but unlikely that a group of non-human hominids could escape detection; it's also possible that at one point such creatures existed (accounting for their presence in local lore) but that they have long since gone extinct.

I guess this, though I definitely lean heavily on the "it's all bullshit" side.

I'm going to go with probably not, but then again there's always an outside chance. Trolls obviously exist, you just need to look around Scandinavia enough. Dragons are all sleeping though.

Well, I believe that the existence of a small population of something like bigfoot could be possible, especially in the remote areas of the Pacific Northwest. However, it's only plausible. There may or may not be. However, bigfoot does exist in native american folklore and did long before white settlers, so there might be something to it.

In short, it is utterly ludicrous and damn near impossible for a large ape to exist in North America. The types of foliage and food stuffs that they typically eat is simply non existent. While it's certainly possible that evolution may have taken its course, the fundamental issue is that nowhere, at any point in time, has there ever been a large ape in the fossil record on the continent. Equally, there are actually no viable predecessors on the Asian side for such a creature. And before you throw out Gigantopitheticus, keep in mind that it is utterly asinine that a creature that evolved to eat Bamboo and other sub-tropical plants, that was almost an obligate quadruped, and could not survive harsh climates could ever traverse the expanses between the continents when a land bridge existed. Any individual that even attempted to cross that at the time periods it could have would have died a swift and painful death.

Equally, I have never come across a single story which could actually be attributed to "bigfoot" like creatures in all of my work as an archaeologist and anthropologist. The absolute best is perhaps the Mandan Giant myths (Which are decidedly referring to the Mandan themselves, and fully human), or are complete bastardizations of stories about Bears, interpreted from ignorant people who have no idea what the stories are actually about, or the cultural myths surrounding them.

To be blunt, there is no reason at all to believe that a large non-human primate exists in North America. There is no evidence, either in myth or the fossil record, that such would be the case. It's a fabrication at best.

I also would be interested in doing something like that as well. I would like to take up a hobby in exploring cryptids, especially hominids such at the Yeti, the Almas, and the Yowie.

It's possible, I suppose, but I doubt bigfoot exists because someone would've caught one or killed one by now. It's hard to believe that a large bipedal ape has evaded detection for this long.

What I think is that bigfoot may exist though shows like "Finding Bigfoot" and such are fake due to the fact "sightings" are rare. Overall i'm netural on either sides.

Considering people go missing in the wilderness and no trace of them has been found, finding remains in the vastness of the United States and Canada is basically looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack.

Which would be a decent argument if 100 of them got lose into the wild from a broken Chinese shipping crate or something, but doesn't fair as well if there is supposed to be a breeding population going back thousands and thousands of years.
