And in any case, it's entirely likely that giants, trolls, and elves represent some kind of beings that were encountered at some point. It's also entirely possible that these beings represent the ancestral memories of the remnants of Neanderthals or other hominid groups.

Now, if we are talking about Borneo, Africa, or remote parts of South America where bigfoot type creatures are also reported, then I say it's much more likely. Both gorillas and pandas were thought to be myths before their "discovery" be westerners, so it's entirely possible another great ape could be hiding in a remote jungle somewhere.

Here's what gets me, everyone has a pretty damn good camera these days, everyone. How is it that no one has gotten a good picture of this thing since 1970?
