Conquering Europe would simply take resources that the Russians don't have. They'd also literally have to burn the continent to the ground, wipe out pretty much everybody, before they get submission. Which would simply make you a nation who has conquered ashes. #yay

The French and German Governments also wield a military that is more advanced than the Russian military, is holding military alliances with the single most powerful nation in the world. These governments are also holding foriegn policies that don't put them directly at odds with governments who are more than capable of fucking their shit up. France and Germany are also going to be one of the major reasons why russia can't conquer europe

Half of Europe did fall under the control of the USSR and if Winston Churchill's plan to attack the Soviet Union conventionally went forward, there was a real prospect of the Red Army being able to smash the western armies and advance to France and maybe even capture Spain and Portugal if they wanted to depose Franco. The birth rates were much better under Soviet communism during that era compared to the western Europe counterparts. I do think that in the long run, a Russian ruled Europe would've revived that continent. Today we'd instead be seeing a Europe which is more European.

The EU is fixing to collapse any year now. Events are increasingly making it more fragile as the immigration crisis gets worse. Only that getting resolved before it is too late might spare the EU. Why is this a question, or a thread, or even a discussion on about it? The answer is no, Russia will not be the masters of Europe, and no Russia does not want to take over the world as well. They just want to have the position that the US has today, where everyone looks to them for support. Russia's interest is not conquering, but just being the nation that every other looks to for leadership. But, at the moment this is technically impossible, as the military is outdated, the government is corrupt as hell, and there is bad opinion of said nation by other nations in the world.
