When I first saw this thread, I thought what the fuck is this shit.

Now that I've read the OP, I say fuck no, but not because of some "objectification" issues. I just don't like the idea of having a completely psychotic fanatical girlfriend. It'd be too weird. And if I break up with her? Then what? Who's to say she won't kill me for it? It'd be cool amazing to have that kind of control for a day, maybe a week, but sooner or later it'd lose its appeal and you'd regret making the decision.

Apparently (this coming from someone on the periphery of the anime-watching community) a yandere would kill their beloved if they were rejected and might even kill family members and acquaintances of the same gender as themselves. (i.e. your yandere girlfriend will kill your mother, your sister, that girl you talk to in class, etc)
So yeah, this is like the stuff people said in Europe about America in the late 19th century, that the streets are paved with gold and with hard work you can get rich. In reality, the streets are paved with shit and with hard work you can die an early death from cholera. Except here, your girlfriend's loyalty is conditional on you being absolutely fucking attentive to them and basically worshiping them in return. Fail to keep her believing you love her, she'll kill you, rape you and commit suicide over your body.
